Now maybe I can jump back in here and get a push in the right direction....just need a little info...I got a down loaded file ...say's it is a AVI but converted to Divx..I can play the file and burn it...problem is it has chineese closed captioning...I have searched for another file with out it...can't find one...and am fairly new to burning and even useing a pc to start with... Anybody know what would work for a file to file rip ..where i can pull the closed captioning...and give me an idea what file i need to pull....perferable something free....or am I going to have to burn it to a RW the rip it back off with decryptor....??? anybody want to send me in right direction....... just an old highway tramp -----Bill-----
Creaky there are always going to be off-topic-topics going on in forums. I have seen them all over - even on threads that i myself have started. (Now please don't get me wrong - by all means i am certainly not wanting to start a argument over a few posts). I actually PM'ed a member of afterdawn - I was directed to read THIS THREAD on what my question was. There are 5 pages of information in this thread. If you take a look at the whole thread - you will see, that this and several other topics have been addressed here. The whole point of these forums are so ppl can get help - I am sure there are plenty of members here that have made mistakes - whatever they may be - when I tried my post - I simply followed what I had already seen - I did not recall seeing any member before my post complaining about what had been done previously - so I figured it would be ok to try it. Also as I stated earlier - I would have been more than happy to PM myself if I had been aware that I could do that. You set me str8 on that. I apologized to the other members - since then someone else has tried it - maybe they did not read the previous posts of what we discussed - (I am not even feeling as if the last message was directed towards me personally) but must it bother us to the point of having to keep bring it up every time someone else makes a mistake? you're ok, and you're right, it's not personal at all. i am one of the world's worst for going offtopic (though i'm behaving more lately!) or veering off into other subjects too. However signatures is a pet peeve as it honestly does tend to invite other ppl into a thread who wouldn't otherwise have contributed, and the page i mentioned is proof of how it goes on and on. that's all, no harm meant, but signatures really do tend to wreck threads. just my opinion, and not meaning to be a killjoy, i just do my bit to keep the peace. i for one can't track an entire thread all the way thru each time i join in, as i participate in gazillions of threads so there may well be other signature stuff going on in the other pages

Actually ZHELPZ ,creaky is right and unfortunately i was wrong.Off topic answers are frowned upon on here and are in the forum rules.What i should of down was have you guys start a different thread and then there probably wouldnt be an issue, BUT AS we were waiting for JMST to come back, the idle banter has got a little more than idle banter.(just love this site) @ creaky, you having a bad day dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol @ morrislui: you need to read all the points salient to your problem, 1st,2nd, and 3rd pages.Look at the text image properly,all the info is there. @ hopper393: i take it nothing showed up in shrink, so you are asking this question.You should of being abled to disable the captions or .srt files within the boundaries of shrink.
@andmerr, naw, i've been busy re-backing-up loads of my dvds and watching loads of them for a change so i'm doing good. just doing my rounds thru a few forums, ie being a busybody as per.

Thanks will try to make shrink work...its installed ...just had trouble getting the file to be reconized by it...guess will hit scuba petes directions a little harder...I may be back at you guys later about it...and for the record...if you open up a tread on the siggy stuff let me know ...as was follwing you guys...and am trying to get some one to put togather a custom GIF siggy for me...wouldnt have thought of doing it if it wasn't for you guys...anyway ...take care guys and enjoy your day.... Hey Gwen - yep I should have pointed you out on the playground too *LMAO* That boxer is cooooooool .... hopper - thats good let us know what happens w/ shrink - and if it doesnt work out then back to the grind with it
Hopper - When you open SHRINK .... as soon as you pull up the files - on the right side of shrink will have all the boxes where you can check and un-check whatever subtitles / audi streams you do and dont want ... not sure if you are just wanting the chinese off - or if you want it off and want to keep english checked ....
