I have this other softmodded Xbox that was working well and fine until I decided to upgrade the HD in the Xbox. My roommate has a Slayers disc and I put that in the Xbox and then chose to unlock the HD. Stupid mistake. Now whenever I start the Xbox, either by itself, with the tray open, or with a retail game, I get the error 05, which means the drive is not locked. My roommate has a chipped Xbox and we tried locking the HD with his Xbox, but still continued to get errors. Now the drive is unlocked and gives me nothing but error 05. I searched high and low and I do not have the HD key for this Xbox. My question is this...is this Xbox bricked as it is right now and the only way to salvage it is to install a modchip? Any help would be appreciated!
