When I try adding the video file an error comes up that says:
The video GOP is too long.
For a standalone DVD it is nessesary for the GOP to fulfill the following conditions:

Max 36 fields (18 frames) (NTSC format ONLY)
Max 20 fields (15 frames) (PAL format ONLY)

    Hiya,

that means the MPEG file you are using as source is NOT a DVD Compliant file (read the help that comes with DVD Author).

    Have Fun....

uhhh.... how bout I just use something else, can you recommend a program that will burn the .mpg directly to a dvd-r? if not do you know a program that will get the vob and ifo files from the mpg so I can burn it with nero by just adding it to the video_ts and audio_ts folders?
    Thanks

You could run the MPG through TMPGEnc to produce a DVD Compliant file, then use DVD Author.

You could try something like Sonic MyDVD.

    You could try DVD-Lab.

Many possibilities, all will require some work/learning etc...

If you are looking for a one-click solution, you may be out of luck...

    Have Fun...

Use the project Wizard in TMPGEnc to encode the file to DVD Standard (file - project wizard). Then use TMPGEnc DVD Author, it wont accept a non standard file!

Wow.. alright when I go to the project wizard and try to load the video and audio files they both say cannot open file, or unsupported.
    Please Help!
