I used dvd shrink & copied to my hard drive & used Nero to burn. The source disc is not a copy. Very odd,you can burn plus format, but not dash. Is there a reason why you have to use the dash format? Here's something you may want to do. Get rid of nero completely from your pc. Use the nero6 cleantool to rid all remnants of nero off your pc: http://ww2.nero.com/enu/Clean_Tools.html Re-install nero and make sure you leave out the INCD packet writing software. Another thing: Do you have any Roxio software on your pc?
I'm going to try the Nero clean tool. I need to use the dash format because I backup a lot of movies for my son & his player prefers the dash format. I have no Roxio on my computer. The only program I have besides Nero is Sonic record now which I don't have a problem with, it burns every format however, I prefer Nero. Will keep you posted. Jenlicris
@jenlicris - you're saying your son's player 'prefers' dash media. is that as in it prefers dash, or can 'only' play dash, ie will it not play booktyped media ie +R set to dvd-rom format (booktyping can only set +R discs to dvd-rom, -R discs can't be booktyped..) - if your son's player can play +R discs you can booktype them. That's only half the solution though as obviously there must be a reason why you're having trouble with dash media...
@Creaky My son's player prefers dash media but will play plus at times with a lot of freezing up even with my better quality discs. I have a feeling that the booktype utility that was given to me by the forum will definitly make a difference with that issue however, I still can't burn with Nero using dash media & I've followed all of the suggestions that have been given to me. I really don't think there's much that I can do but to go with the Sonic Record program which burns the dash media with no problems. This is all very weird isn't it? I happen to prefer Nero which I will continue to use. Thanx for the feedback. Jenlicris

@Gaby1991 - - i didn't think Nero 7 was out 'til October. plus i don't trust the first version of a new release. But at least you state you've experimented with different versions/programs - your burner's firmware is 1 revision behind - http://dhc014.rpc1.org/Files/DVDR/DW-D22A_BYS3b.zip - is this burner in an external enclosure ie USB or similar ? - DMA needs to be ON, reload your motherboard's (Nvidia) drivers - you have sufficient total memory, but try to close down more programs prior to burning to enable sufficient free memory - were you intending to do multisession discs ? (just checking) - Princo - not very good discs. Try better discs. - great idea, at least you're not wasting discs this way - lmao, that's a great error though!, but to be serious, i think it's just saying there's a drive problem - if actioning all the suggestions doesn't help, it's always possible you got a duff drive, unless you can plug drive into another PC to test it further.. - InCD is Nero's 'packet wrting' software. get rid of it by uninstalling Nero, uninstalling completely via Nero's Clean Tools, then install Nero WITHOUT InCD
Hi I'm having some trouble... I Try to burn Vob files (dvd - iso) and with nexxtech 16x dvd+r dvds i keep getting this problem... Using Dynex dvd+r dvds i can burn movies fine. @jvsquared Here's a few things: Your latest firmware is A306. Here's a link to update: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1923 Ugh - crap media and probably the cause of your failure. Use quality media like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DataLifePlus. Buying in store go with the Verbatims, Fuji or Sony (last 2 look for made in Japan). Crappy media causes lots of problems - if it does burn there can be playback issues and it will probably degrade making them useless. direct correlation to those bad CMC's. Update your firmware and pick up some quality media - you won't regret it!
@jvsquared - all i can add is pls EDIT OUT your email address before a moderator sees it or a spammer gets it...
Thanks Blinky and Creaky lol... I love how your names are adjectives. But Thanks for all the help.. I'll be back if it doesnt work Muhahahah!!!
