You should be good to go then. You might also want to check Gateway's site and see if they have a firmware upgrade for the burner (if this burner came with the pc)
thanks againg......is there something else besides the bsg5?....i put the burner in about two and a half years ago.
I can't find anything else - seems the manufacturer 4kus is no longer around and the links for firmware are dead links. You may just want to pick a new burner a some point in the near future if you start getting burn failures again w/ good media. They're pretty cheap now - good ones around $30-35.
i actually just burned a movie it took 55 min. when i first started using shrink and decrypter it was taking about an hour then all of a sudden it started taken 3 to 4 times that......so far so good thanks again.
Good deal - the added memory will hep the time too. If it starts longer like the 3-4 hrs you had before - make sure all your drives are in DMA mode and not PIO mode. Here's a guide. Happy Burning! (& have a happy new year too!)
