My wifes v3 razr went on the blink.
We use Cingular, which I guess is AT&T now
the only thing it will do when you push a button now is display this message:
    voice record memory full
I tried to put in a different sim card from my phone.
tried to see if a button is stuck on it.
nothing. Do I need to attempt to flash new firmware?
I bought it from a pawn shot and it has worked flawlessly for 6+months or so.
    there is no warranty.
    thanks in advance

    The Shoyu

    Well, here is an update.

I replaced the whole guts of the top part of the phone with another one that I had for spare parts. It fixed that problem. Oh, and I flashed it too. now it works like a charm except I cannot get the speaker to work. not the loud speaker, but the one that rests on your ear..

I had to slide the little ribbon out and unplug the other side when I replaced the top half of the phone. I am guessing that I damaged the ear piece speaker or maybe don't have the ribbon making contact correctly to control the speaker. The lcd screen works fine and all the buttons seem to be working fine. just the speaker won't work. All I can do is use the loud speaker to hear with.

Did you de-solder or solder anything? If not, try testing the speaker on another phone. Make sure the ribbon is fastened on both ends, those things come loose very easily.
