    Hi;

    I get this message when I try to open an AVI file in Virtual Dub v1.6.0:

    "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DX50' (unknown). Virtual Dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable".

    Anyone have any idea what this means, and/or where I could find a codec for the format "DX50"? Thanks for any help!

    P.S. I also get the error with the "AVI MPEG ASF WMV splitter", the other popular file splitter that's around.

    DX50 is the FourCC for the DivX 5 Codec, you can get it from www.divx.com -- That is what is missing . !
