I put my burned dvd in my Sony dvd player and it played fine for about 5 mins then there was large pauses in the dvd. 30 seconds or so? What am I doing wrong?

I just used the xpress option and it said everything is ok.

    Could be several issues:

    1. Low quality media.
    2. Burned too fast
    3. Media/Burner compatability.

There's more, but let's start there. What type of media are you using? What are you using to copy with? What speed did you copy at? What burner are you using?

Yes, with XCOPY I'm don't believe there's a way to tell it the speed. You just said "Memorex DVD-R dvd's". If they're 8x, I think XCOPY couild be burning them at 8x. However you didn't give me the speed of your burner either. Anyways, I've been several issues with the memorex media. It is considered one of the lower quality media's. But before you trash them. Why don't you try DVD SHRINK and DVD Decryptor. Make sure you set the burn speed on Decryptor on 2x and see if that helps. Once again though I'm going to say it's probably the media you're using. There are other things it could be, but that would be what I would check first.

    Hi there,

DvdXCopy is an awsome piece of software.

The ONLY downside to it, is it will not let you pick the burning speed.

Burning at 4x caused me problems.
Burning at 2x solved *MY* problems.

This is why I now use DVDShrink and burn with Nero, this way I can choose to burn at 2x
