    Hi Guys,

Am considering upgrading by eurovox from 5000 to 5100

I would like to know if the eurovox 5100 has filmware without
    autosort?

The reason I ask, when I update channels on the eurovox 5000 the update knock's off my own personal customised channels. Even with the fav sort turned on or off. So to get around this I had to download the filmware without autosort.

Another quick question can I upload my channel cdf file from eurovox 5000 to eurovox 5100 box?

I dont think there is much difference between the 5000 and the 51000.
As a matter of fact I think they changed the name due to clone issues. With regard to the cdf file, yes you can upload from 1 to the other as they are compatible.

    Hi,

so does that mean I can upload eurovox 5000 filmware without autosort
onto the eurovox 5100? I see there's no filmware without autosort for 5100

Can any other senior member confirm this please?

    Thanks

No the firmware for an EX5000 cannot be used on a EX5100. As said above the EX5100 was brought out to combat the EX5000 clones.

The latest EX5000 firmware will brick an EX5000 clone. If you want to sort your channels to your liking use voxer. When you need to update channels you can turn autosort off in user installation.

However after you have manually turned it off it will revert to on by default after each scan. So you need to remember to turn it off at each update.

    Hi Sc0user,

I have just received my eurovox 5100 today, installed the new firmware for eurovox 5100 and installed the channel cdf file from my old eurovox 5000 so, I now have the channels set how I customised them on my old box. The problem is when a channel changes frequency you would not be able to view the channel unless you run the update channels via the following option:-

Menu>User Installation and click on the red button to update channels, so you can view the channel that has changed frequency.

As you are already aware, if you click on channel update the channels get mixed up again, meaning it knocks of your customise channels you spent hours cutomise the way you like them to be. There's no point me uploaded my channel cdf becasue one or two channels have changed frequency so am back to square one.

Scouser, I remember you qouting the following:-

"When you need to update channels you can turn autosort off in user installation. " at the above reply.

Can you please instruct me how to turn of this autosort off in user installation? Becasue I can't find this option no where.

The only options I have user installation are as follows:-

Red button - update channels which doesn't display autosort on or off.

    Blue button - Manual scan

Yellow button - ch edit :"which give you the option to change channel number, frequency, symbol rate and modulator.

Blue button power scan - displays

    Start frequency 100Mhz....
    Stop frequency 870.00 Mhz....
    Symbol Rate
    Symbol Rate
    Symbol Rate
    Step 8
    Fav Sort on or off.

It doesn't make any difference if you have the fav sort on or off the
channels I customise still doesn't come back on but deletes them when you run power scan, so when the eurovox runs a scan the channels are all mixed up again.

I see there are two different versions of filmware one with autosort
and one without autosort on the eurovox 5000 and eurovox 1000. Does this mean you currently don't have filmware without autosort for 5100?

Thanks for being patient, I look forward from hearing from any senior member for advice.

    Cheers

I do not know if there is firmware without autosort for 5100.If some of your channels have moved to another frequency and you know that frequency why not just do a manual scan on that frequency. It should
bring in the channels for that frequency alone and then you can sort
them.I'm assuming you know the frequency as you said you did a power
scan and the channels were all over the place.

    Hi Phil,

    I don't know the frequency.

You are technically correct, if you know the frequency then you can manually update just the frequency but as soon as you receive the channels and by default autosort knock's off your own customised channels but puts them as you would get when you run a power scan which is all mixed up. In Menu> Fav manager > sort you only have the following options:-

    Name
    Type
    Frequncy
    Manual

Non of them brings back your own customised channels. If I was to select the manual option I would have to sit there for hours customising every channel again.

Phil, Would any senior member be able to confirm if we have 5100 without autosort? if there isn't one available would there likely to be one in the near future? since they are available for eurovox 5000 and eurovox 1000. I should imagine there wouldn't be much of a change for another version of firmware becasue the eurovox 5000 and 5100 is very similar since I can use the cfd file from eurovox 5000 on 5100
