Please help newbie well almost, I have a Max V and updated firmware 2 weeks ago working great, I purchased 3 EX5000 box's yesterday for the family (xmas presents)

Followed firmware download, all appeared successful, followed channel load as discribed, factory reset ect, but I don't get power scan , only shows fast scan (red Button) changed symbol rate to 6.887 (Glasgow)all chanells found. I ran through 20+ channels and checked fav's all loaded.I than done the same for the other 2 box's every thing looked ok. I then connected the first box back up and no channels found??? scanned again, found all channels again. Tried second box same problem, channels lost, it appears when I disconnect from mains I lose all channels. Have I done something wrong as I do not get the power scan (yellow button option). Is there a waiting time to store channels??

    Thanks in advance

Thanks M8 for your speedy reply I will try this tonight, sorry for being so dumb, last night after I did the factory default it took me to the screen with Symbol rate and fast scan , how do I get to the user install screen, and is this the reason for the channels not storing

    Cheers

as per the link I gave you,

    HOW TO SCAN FOR CHANNELS.

Please before you get started check and double check that you have the cable feed pluged into your "RF IN" and not the ANT socket.

1, First of all you will need to know who your Symbol Rate, If you get this wrong you wont pick up any Transponders/Channels so download the list linked below before going any further. (if your on Ch0rus use 6875 as your Symbol Rate.)

    Symbol Rate List Here.

2, Now do a Factory Default by pressing ,(Menu) pull right to (Config) pull down then (OK) on (Clear Data) enter 0000 for your pin then highlight (factory default) and press-(OK) then (OK) on your symbol rate. (for the EX-5000 pvr it will show leave recordings or erase recordings)<- this is your choice.

3, Now that you have completed the Factory default you can scan for your channels, go back to the (Menu) screen then (installation) and (OK) on (User Installation) again enter 0000 as your pin, Now press the yellow button for (Power Scan) then a box will load like one of these.

    (If your N*L Dublin use 6887 + start at 290.000 end 420.000)

In each box above notice the Symbol Rates 6887,6952 & 6875, now match your symbol rate which you got from the list downloaded previously to one of the boxes and copy the rest of the information in that specific box to your eurovox powerscan settings using your remote, once after double checking you have entered the info correctly press ok to start the scan.

Once you have scanned in all your channels please take a minute of your time to share your CDF (channel Dump Files) with other users by uploading it to your PC then Here, then post the share link along with your provider and location, Many thanks!
