    Hi all,
Can i thank HITECH and all the guys for putting a very easy user guide on flashing the Eurovox Max V,this is my mother in laws box(so to speak)i have dreambox myself...anyway have followed all the guidelines he sates download(with null)compleate ok,then i follow the guide to scan the channels on NTL6887 to the letter but it is only taking about 17 of the normal channels.I have been at this for about 4 hrs so any help would be appriciated,Does it matter if you turn the box off then scan the channels?

    Thanks in advance
    Bernie

bernie - the eurovox Max V seems to be at the end of it's line. There's no fixes out for it on N2 (previously NTL were using N1 so it worked). Even if a fix did come out for N2 there is a strong possibility that they will be rolling out N3 shortly after (but no evidence of this yet). I also have a Mav V in NT* in Dublin & was hoping for a fix but think I'll have to accept the fact that a fix ain't coming.
There's a few boxes (Kryptview, Eurovox ex1000 etc) that are working on N2 so you, like me, could comtemplate buying one of them & take the chance of having to go through this again if N3 encryption is rolled out.
I only really use the box for the footy so will wait another 2 weeks to make sure NT* don't pull a fast one & change to N3 just as the footy season kicks off.
That's my tuppence worth anyway, the lads may have some other advice for you but I think that's the lie of the land as it is now....
The Max V might go in the bin (or you could sell it to some UK users who I think are still on N1).

    Thanks Janeymack,
I looked right through the thread after my post and saw similar problems from a few more users.
Its a shame as its a brand new box.
    Thanks again.

No worries - you might get rid of it in the UK. I'm not sure who much demand is over there but you could stick it up on ebay & see what happens. Or the more experienced postes on this site might be able to direct you.

    Hi there,

I hope someone can help me.

I have a new Eurovox EX7000 PVR and I am trying to set it up, but without much success. I have downloaded all the channels, but cannot seem to get sports, movies etc.

Is there a nagravision type screen, needeing codes etc?

If anyone can help me in anyway it would be most appreciated, cheers.

I would use 7000 fix (22/01/09),Put bin file 0n USB & flash to box.
In EIRE you must use fix (03/08/09) for N2 encryption. This fix is at
BETA(temporary)stage. If you can back-up your CH.data before flashing fix
to box,it might save some grief. If flash erases chls. You may have to manually enter transponder(freq)values before re-scanning for channels. This can be a daunting task for a novice.
EX 5100 flash saves CH.lists---1000sl flash ERASES all chls.
It is NOT necessary to fac.reset any EUROVOX before flashing.
Be aware fac.reset erases all channels.
I have not flashed a 7000,so don't know if it saves or erases all chls
Would someone please clarify this issue

Not my work, but here ya go

    menu/user installation,
then press info on the remote (this will select all tp's )
then blue button to start scan.
will ask if you want to save channels,
    select yes, job done.

    Hi,
Does anyone know if there will be a fix for the eurovox EX5000? I see there is a fix for the EX5100, EX1000 & the EX7000 in the shared folder.

if its chorus true cable then yes, MMDS, no

but if I were offered one now? then I would say no, future proof by buying one that is N2 ready, how long will the box be future proof? is anyones guess

Before attempting to put the firmware on your box make sure you do not have a clone, if you put genuine firmware on an clonebox it will brick it. Then the only way to recover is to Jtag the box.You will find clonesafe firmware at the end of this guide.
how can i Jtag the box i think i brick it, thanks.

but the problem you have is, if your in Ireland, even if you JTAG the box, you still wont be able to use it as the firmware will kill it again, so either way your stuck

if the box is new, send it back the supplier, if its less than a year old and the gave a 1 year warranty, send it back
