Depends which box you're using, + if you know as much as you think you
know conventional transponder freqs. are spaced in steps of 8 or
multiples of 8. Start power-scan at 290Mhz to 600Mhz you will pick up
12 T.P.'s.You then have to manually add T.P.150Mhz + manual scan.
If you power-scan from 150Mhz you pick up T.P.150Mhz only.
    150+8+8+8+8 etc. falls on 286 294 302 etc.,scan will miss all active T.P.'s.
2nd OPTION; DEEP SCAN goes in single steps all thru, but will have many duplicated, necessitating the 70yr old gadget wizard to scroll
thru list + delete unwanted chls.
    3rd OPTION; (recommended for O.A.P.'s)
Go to user installation, pin no.0000 or try 19**(last time dublin won
all-Ireland). Manually enter values for 13 T.P.'s +manual scan each.
When c/plete(if you're still alive) go to ch.edit + arrange all 8 fav
groups, using colour prompts on screen, don't forget to hit fav key
to change cat title of colour prompts. If you can't manage it ask tutor at active retired comp.class next week.
If you(guitar 57) find this post "off key", you may edit & re-post.
I'm sure Mickah would read thru it for you to make sure all i's are
dotted + t's are crossed. Sometimes you MENSA members with I.Q.'s of
10,000 suffer with illiteracy problems. Talk to you later.[/quote]

Very impressive, Fair play on your knowledge of the whole thing, lucky enough i made a balls of it so you could impress everyone. Maybe you should put yor knowledge to working on fix's for the box's that dont work instead of being a smart alec

    Hi All

(Sorry for this long post, but i wanted to get all the details in)
I am having a problem with my eurovox max v (not a clone) and was wondering if someone could help.
I few days ago my box just stopped working (got an error saying something about do not reprogram this unit). There was no lighting at the front and it seemed dead. After reading around i found i could bring the box back to life by Jtagging it.
I successfully jtagged it and now the box powers up, the time displaying 12:00 and updating. When i switch it on however it says channel 0001 but there is no display on screen (everything is connected correctly).
So i figured i need to update the firmware. I have followed the steps at the start of this thread (using the null modem bought from maplin) the receiver is detected and it starts sending the firmware down, however it randomly gets stuck (i have been waiting over an hour but it never finishes) sometimes it gets to 64% sometimes 22%. The highest i have seen it get to is 77% but then it just stops and gets no further. I have gone through nearly every forum but i cant seem to find anyone with this problem.

    Please help

Sorry to have upset you e45, but being a MEMBER you are not new to
forums. Surely you have noticed replies without quotes that have followed original querys with other posts sandwiched in between. It's
only my opinion, but replies which have quotes reader knows what's going on.
    Imagine a sports quiz; Answer is--- h-t 1-0 + f-t 3-1

Now contestant; To win prize-- Tell me what the question was
I'm not the most observant person, but I haven't noticed any posts
lately from e45 helping out members. Maybe I just didn't see them.
If my visits to this forum are upsetting people like Mickah, who is
always on here helping people,I just go on other forums. No problem.
But if a come-day-go-day "member"?????? objects, I do have a problem.

not upsetting me in the slightest, but some of yer replys can be taken as either sarcastic to the point of insulting or some may fail to see the humour in them, depends on the person reading it

    Mickah,
I have the greatest respect for yourself,HiTeck,Fergus + others
who give up their time helping members here. That's why I would not
hesitate to apologise to yourself or other members If comments I have
made were out of order.I know some of my remarks cut too close to the
bone, but there are times when some people have it coming.
I posted on D.K. many times this morning, giving it socks, there was no real problem. Then I slated SVU4 boxes, rubbished them. Suddenly I gotA yellow card. When I asked to show posts which offended they had been deleted. Was complainant a SVU4 trader, maybe not

Well EAMO_TOO it was me who has the problem with you not using the quote function properly and the post padding. Putting your comment in the quote makes it hard to figure out what is what. Edit your previous post instead of doing back to back posts.
