Correct, and yes you can alter them on your PC by pressing edit button once you have selected the CDF from your PC, the rest is self explanatory.

    Hi there

im looking to buy some eurovox sl 1000 boxes and was wondering if you can do a software transfer from one to another like you can with the starview 3 boxes and are they a better box than the sv3. Ive read a lot of posts on theseand havent seen anything about this so any information would be great.

    Thanks Gazza

I am writing to say a big thankyou to everyone who has spent their
time and effort to answer all the questions asked (some a hundred times over) to solve peoples problems, I started reading every thread when i was sick of inputting cds and decided to flash my own box ,after a nervous few days i finally done it thanks to you guys and your great instructions,
i have been inundated with boxes from workmates to flash and have done them all free of charge (i am promised free pints) hope i dont bump into them all on the same night
Again i must thank you all again for your efforts

Was gonna buy a null modem cable off fleabay, (RS232) but then noticed that you say on page1 that it wont work for firmwares etc. It says that it will work for this on ebay and it's a lot cheaper than joe m@plins! Why are they selling them on fleabay for this purpose? Should i stay clear then, and pay a tenner from M@plins??
Do they sell splitter boxes too?
    Pls help! THANKYOU

No-one can categorically say that all the cables on fleabay are no good, it is by far much cheaper than maplins (incidentally they also make mistakes and hand out the incorrect cable), but you just need to check the feedback and decide for yourself, they do refer to them as RS232 leads and they do look identical, one is a straight through serial and the other is a NULL MODEM. When they are advertised as NULL MODEM then that is all you can assume, and yes you can also buy cable splitters at both.

    mackboy1--Nice of you to say!

    pcalf101

L71BT is the correct cable from Maps but as mentioned quite deer! If you want a supplier on fleabay that is cheap and sells null modem cables guaranteed try THESE, I have used them quite allot ;) and their cables always work.

    Guys

Got Eurovox EX500PVR, updated firmware as per instructions (UFL_ex5000_15-07-08), scanned for channels using 6887 (Virg - old n:l area, notts), managed to get 36 TP's, however, only able to view free channels like bbc & itv etc. Sports and music etc stay scrambled. One thing I did notice not happen at the end of scanning the channels, it didn't say 'code being updated'. Is there any other s/w I should be adding?

    System info as follows:
    Model DVB-XC EX5000TDA
    S/W Ver 1.0 ST4 Jul 15 2008
    H/W Ver 2.0 T K5 +D
    Bootstrap V001
    S/W Build Kuro

I have tried factory reset and powerscanning and I am using the direct feed (in fact the only feed into the house) with no splitters.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards

    Simon

Did you manage to flash the box?

Press menu then OK enter 1968 make sure emulation is set to enable then 1968 again, a new hidden screen will then load pull left until Nagravision shows then press the yellow for Default keys, now exit back to main screen put the channel on Sly sports or a movie channel and wait for codes to update.

Thanks for all your help, would never have got through if it wasn't for all yours, and everyone elses, advice.

    Regards

    Simon
