Eurovox flashing step by step.

    You would be best off just getting it flashed, when you return someone will help you out.

    2 of my friends have bought starview 3 boxes they live in newbridge Co Kildare the boxes were already flashed but when they scan for channels they are only finding 133 channels can anyone help they are on chorus,ive tried factory reset and re scan for channels but cant get anymore channels emu is onand all leads are in tight any help would be greatly appreciated

    Can't flash the box...when downloading starts, it sends and writes but then fails!??

    I can't flash to my Eurovox MaxV 2008. It shows Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port at Com 9, but when I come to download there are only four options...Coms 1 to 4. However, I then changed it (according to your instructions) to Com 2 and it downloads (showing dlnd on the display), sending and writing, but then fails!

    I get 0000 at the front of the box at the start, and when I put it on standby I get the time e.g. 12:02.

    After it has downloaded (and failed) the display changes to - and then ---- alternating all of the time!

    You always get the failed message and then download completes comes up a few seconds later. Press menu, config and system info, post what it says please to confirm.

    Should have really posted in a Starview thread. But that's about the best for that area, if you are including both radio and TV in your channel amount. You may get a few more channels by manually adding them. But I would need to know what frequencies you have at the moment.

    When replying could you please start another thread with something along the lines of "Starview Super Newbridge" and post a link back to this post for reference only. That way people here will see your first post and answer, but will keep it in a Starview specific thread instead of here, many thanks ;)

    hi guys update!!!
    supplier changed ex5000pvr have received new one tested on mine with fta doesnt work says bad or no signal! tried it on 2 other cable connections and works perfectly so its not the box. i have a VM box which intermitently freezes and pixelates. they have been out 3 times already and are coming out again next week. i previouslky had a blue box which we never had a problem with. im trying to get hold of another blue box to try on my connection to see if that works or not!!! anyone got any ideas bfore i tell VM where to stick their cable/phone and internet????

    Just keep getting on at VM to get your signal correct, personally I think the Blue EV has a far superior Tuner to the others including the EX5000PVR, I have 2 around the house and had a similar problem this week with signal issues, the EX kept freezing whereas the other 2 EV blue were fine! got them out and they moved my location in the cab, works 100% now, just persist with VM, if your sub box is freezing they will have to sort the problem out.

    right guys another update!! ive got my daughters blue box(which was the same as ours) works perfectly watching footy on s*yS8orts 1 not pixelating or anything. but if i attach the Ex5000 it says bad or now signel.how can that be? any suggestions before i put my head in the oven???

    hi just got a eurovox ex1000sl. im getting the scrambled signal on 99% of the channels, is this because i need to do whats on page 1? is it the firmware that needs updating?
    sorry but im a complete newb at this stuff

    would do but some chap from my work has took it to his brother inlaws to sort as he has done them before and has the correct leads and ports on his computer

    hopefully all will work tomorrow

    Hi guys, I was wondering if you can help me.
    I've got the EX5000 and have updated the firmware successfully, and connected the box direct to my VirginMedia cable, and I have done a full scan (100mhz - 870mhz) on all 3 symbol rates: 6.887, 6.875 and 6.952
    The signal strength is well into the green, but it takes ages to scan, and then doesn't find any channels. Not even free ones.

    I cancelled my TV subscription a few months ago, and just get the broadband at the moment. My main guess is this is why I'm not finding any channels. It's weird though because I can still get freeview channels through my Virgin Media TV box.

    Has anyone else tried this when they just have a broadband subscription, or is there something I've missed and not tried?

    You must be missing something really simple if the box is flashed okay, you can even connect it to your broadband cable and get the works and yes it will work from your TV cable input even though you cancelled, so check that you have the cable in correctly, and do a Factory Default before re-scanning, do you know who your provider is, you are obviously UK so it is either 6.952 or 6.887.

    These are duplicates of some channels (eg:BBC1, etc), and some of these are channels such as "Fiver" or "Living" which the PV has not catogorised; Look thro these via 'Channel sort'from Menu, and rename these, and delete those which are duplicates.

    They can also be the PPV channels, keep an eye on these ;)

    Guys,

    Can anyone tell me if I can speed up the recording initialisation time?
    When I press record it takes around 25-30 seconds to kick in. It's the same off the epg.

    Any ideas????????

    Help when i firmware for Eurovox EX1000 & press download it comes up saying the reciever was not detected what am i doing wrong

    Happens with most if not all. The initialisation seems to take that time. It may be resolved on the next update.
