ScOuser, replied about a month ago, but you didn't manage to get back to me.
I no longer have the green screen problem, now i lose channels randomly. They are registered on the box but it's a black screen when yo select them.

Any ideas? Below is the info you asked for last time. Cheers.

    Hi Sc0user!
Got the box in Feb this year. Did what you said and it came up with
    Model: DVB-XC BOX
    S/W Ver: 1.0 SSC4 Oct 20 2006
    H/W Ver: 2.0 Oct 20 2006
    Botstrap: v001

    Hope this helps.

    Many Thanks.

Apologies Alan. You need to update the firmware, but first you need to know if you have a clone or genuine box click the SV EV Info link at the end of my post and this will help you decides. I also need to know your provider and general location info.

Here is the latest firmware for your box it is a UFL, (Unified Firmware/Loader).

    http://www.mediafire.com/?9inpnxvcsx3

Just connect your pc to the ev via a null modem cable. Put ev in standby. Unwrap the file and hit download, the shortcut on your desktop should be a icon of a computer and box together.just click download, put your box into standby and DNLD will flash on front of box when it finishes it will tell you download successful. If it comes up waiting on receiver pull your power cable out and push back in and it will start. You may need to do either a autoscan or powerscan after this.

Back so soon!! I hear you say.

My laptop has a 15 pin female connection, all ones i have found online are 9 pin female.
Can I get one with a 9 pin male for box at one end and a suitable connector for the laptop at the other, or do i need a an adaptor?

Aesthetically there is not much difference when viewing. But the two firmwares are different BTW the latest one is dated October. All new firmware is in UFL format meaning Unified Firmware Loader.

You can only use these if you have a genuine box as these will kill clone boxes.

They can be used anywhere I only ask location and provider to ascertain frequency requests as they are dependent upon provider and location.
