    maxv firmware here: http://www.box.net/shared/static/m5eo2cbkkg.rar

    red box firmware here: http://www.box.net/shared/static/55kf33e4kg.zip

blue box firmware is here: http://www.box.net/shared/static/ya3l6ngcgs.rar password is: techwatch

    You will need:
A null modem cable (serial cable) – if you don’t have one – get one. You cant update without it.
Winrar – download here: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm click on WinRAR 3.71 at the top

Connect your eurovox to you pc with the serial cable, put the box in stanby.
Unpack the file i posted earlier with winrar. Inside the file will be the loader utility and a notepad doc.
    Open the loader utility.
You may first want to backup your chanel data so you wont have to rescan for chanels.
To do this, click on the browse tab, choose a location to save your chanel data and click UPLOAD.
Now to update your firmware, click on the download tab (note there are two download tabs, to update firmware click the highest download tab, the one on its own)
Click start when the new box appears.
    Wait for update to complete.
Now you can put your chanel data back on, to do this hit the browse button, select your chanel data file and press the download tab that is next to the upload tab.
When completed hook the box back up, go to an encrypted chanel and allow about 15 mins for codes to update.

the problem lies with the usb to serial connector, they are very hit and miss, some work some dont. if you dont have access to a machine with a serial port the best thing you can di is to get a pcmcia serial adaptor.
    sorry man.

all of the software files for all of the boxes can be found here. Be sure to identify your box and use only the software designed for that box.
    http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html
You need a Null Modem cable. ( RS232 DB9F to DB9F ) which can be bought on the high street at Maplins or easily and more cheaply available from ebay ( for £3.49 delivered )
    You need a PC or laptop with a COMM 1 serial port ( RS232 DB9M )
you need to download and extract the software on to the PC that will do the upgrade.
turn off the PC. Plug the cable into the serial port of the PC and the other end into the box. Put the box on standby.
Run the .exe file for the update software. Save your channel data if required by using the upload buton. Flash the box by using the download button and when finished you have updated the firmware. If you want your channel data back use the download button to replace your channel data ( which you have just saved as a file )
plug it back in to your cable network.
If you did not save the channel data then treat this as a new box, do a full factory reset and rescan for channels.

    That's misleading.
He does need software beyond what is on his computer.
He needs the unified flash loader released yesterday for his box.
