    no default application for what? For the winrar file? I'd suggest that you install winrar after downloading it.
    Failing that just get the update in zip file, right click and extract to a folder then run the exe contained in the extraction folder to start the flash process.

    Go to menu and installation fast or quick install and all will come up once you press the RED button and then ok

    I used a laptop to do mine but i had the correct cable ( both ends have 9 holes and its blue goes into the 9 pins in the back of the lappy).
    My cable came with my boxes so i knew it was the correct one.
    Cable has 2 females ends ( with holes in) lappy and box should have the male end ( with pins) cant remember the name of the cable but on my package its says RoHS Compliant

    hoep this helps you guys with cable problems

    Yes my freind it is turned on and in standby but i think it may have somthing to do with the computer , It states that com port 1 is o.k though

    Ive been out and bought a serial PCI card after hearing the problems on here regarding the usb adaptors and I have installed it in my computer. Vista compatible.

    I am waiting for a mate to bring a null cable down, I dont know where mines gone? then ill report back,
    As panasonic said 2006 is a blue box so I am going to apply the relivent firmware,
    will report back soon !
