hi simon i am hopeless at the tech stuff, i have the eurovox max,on v-rg-n,i only have a laptop,what is the null modem cable,and i dont have winrar,thanks

Simon I have a blue box and a black box.

do i need any other software, or will your links for each individual box suffice?

 

tempo2006: no direct transfer on the eurovox as far as im aware.

it should have come with your eurovox.

Does your laptop come with a serial port?

also, i'm a complete PC idiot!!
i've taken on board the comments about USB adaptors, ie some work some don't. I've tried searching but can't seem to find any info from the people that have ones that work.

where did you get them from, I need an adaptor and have noticed maplin sell them but if they don't work there's no point.

can someone out there with an adaptor that has worked please let us know where it came from, what brand,etc.

I can confirm the adaptors from maplin dont work,
He confirmed that for me down the phone and he said that he had a load of people coming down to maplins for these adaptors for this reason of flashing these boxes and that is the reason I bought a pci serial card. So I get a straight feed from the box to my PC.

 

try these:
00 = 1A C4 BB 2D 46 80 53 FB

01 = AB A6 8D DB B2 4D FF C6

 

many thanks simon i have followed instr and everything seems ok, will i find out if the flash is working when they next change the codes

 

is it playing the encripted channels now without having to enter codes manually. did it say "codes being updated" before it plyed the channel?

Any chance of a bit of help or even point me in the direction of it.

Downloaded fine and uploaded onto the box fine but stupid me forgot to back up my channels which are completly gone, my box came pre installed with all the stations already. Any idea what i do to retune or get the channels back!

I have box on standby rs232 cable connected how do i save my channels before i reflash

Hey man dont get me wrong I was all up for helping people with the codes until last night but we was told not to!

Keep up the great work with the flashing though!! I will be using your info as soon as I get my Null modem lead. My mates on his way down with it, I lost mine lol

click on the browse tab, choose a location to save your chanel data and click UPLOAD.

to put them back on after you have flashed the firmware hit the browse button, select your chanel data file and press the download tab that is next to the upload tab
