These are the two part numbers you will need & are available from Maplin, you can look at them on their website so you know exactly what you need should you go elsewhere for them. Just remember that the cable must be a NULL Modem & not a standard RS232.

    Cable L71BT

    Adapter ZP43W[/quote]

i have both of those parts and have changed com ports for modem and convertor but still getting stuck and in the end saying no com port available!!! Im starting to think i might be thick today after all this im using a laptop any further suggestions!! Been thinking so much iv'e even thought theyre may have been a mistake with the packaging of the null cable and it might be a rs232???!! Im losing it!!

Eurovox Max and software I am trying to download is on the BigMaq toolbar/update fixes/Eurovox Max Red Box Unified Flash Loader (one at bottom of drop down menu. I am using this as I keep getting the message' waiting to update codes. Once I get on to the screen I hit down load and thats when the 'This firmware is not fitted for your reciever message' comes up :-( Oh I could cry

On my screen i can only put a two digit code for the provider id.

    Type: Irdeto
    Provider : 00
    Key : 00
    Key Data 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

So could you tell me what goes where? Please? Sorry for being thick

    Provider 5A 01

    00 - 54 1e ce 02 a2 58 79 86
    01 - b5 aa 58 2d 64 5e e1 05

The only options i can change are the 00 values. The type it ill not let me change! I am using 1968 to get these options up. Is there anyone there with a Eurovox that knows what should be input where and where im goin wrong please?

When you say you changed the COM ports, Did you do that in the Device Manager on the laptop?

You need to set the port number on the laptop & the port number in the software to the same port number.

Did you install the drivers for the adapter?
