in the nicest possible way bud, then u did n ot research enough.
i came here wen my box went down but did read like 3-400 pages before a asked a question.
one would think that if you read that many pages then you should have all the knowledge you need.

am not dissin the people that cannot do it, jus most can't b arsed to read is all.

i like u just wanna help all the genuine people that need help.

    andy

further to that, i had 1 guy ask me for keys cus he could't be arsed to update his box even tho he had the cable, he said "it was too much trouble to unplug it n mess about with it, it's easier to come here and get the keys"

so how am i supposed to think?

I agree with you 100% Andy, but you sometimes have to bite your lip and offer help and sometimes even encouragement. Look at celtic09 comments, he is very happy now with his update and it really didn't take to much to help him out.
He may even try help others out now and that's what it's all about afterall, helping each other out.
But yeah, can be frustrating as hell at times. Personally if I think someone is being really lazy and can't be arsed to look for things I just don't reply to the comment.

dead true, but it is in the rules a think.
    read the rules first.

search the forum b4 u post needless questions.
i just think this forum could be alot better if we deal with people that need us rather than help people that have already been helped...

and yes a am sympathetic to our newbs we all need newbs or the whole site is useless.

    andy

jus sick of helpin people that can't be arsed to read is all

much respect to the rest of yas :)

i've been here 3years now, never broken a rule, been moderating for about 2years of those 3, but in all that time i've never seen so much rule abuse and such a huge amount of people that blatantly can't/won't read even a single thing before posting, as is happening in this forum lately. Most nights i just have to turn off the computer as it just does not stop, post after post after post of brain-numbing code begging. And the worst thing is i've added the new DVB Forum Rules to the top of most of the long running threads and still they keep posting nonsense

/rant over (not that it makes any difference!)
