You need to manually asign your comm port, lots of posts here on that. BTW how do you know its a clone Max V?

Doesn't necessitate a clone, as original genuine models in black boxes have aesthetic differences to those sold in white boxes.........but both are still genuine.

Only way to find out is to open the box and have a look. Clones will have internal differences, e.g. red blobs on boards screws, different cap types, to name but a few differences. Where did you get them?

Apologies if I dont respond as I am heading to bed soon.

As sc0user said, you need to open them, or look through the air vents to see if they are originals or not, or indeed what colour they are...ie, blue box or red box ( not actual box colour but the colour of the packaging it came in) you may have downloaded the wrong firmware that's all.

Look in the shared files under my signature and go to the EV file and in there you will find the file to tell the difference.

    Cheers

IF you look on the threads it will tell you exactly how to download the firmware and it certinly dont take a couple of hrs lol!
shoudltake you a few mins to downlaod the fiels to your pc depending on your speed then a few mins to sort your box out once firmware installed will takbe probably 10-20 mins - in which time you can go put the lettle on.

is so easy i managed to do if back in April and did more that one box. its pretty simple. if you look in some of the siggys for Eamo's library you should find info in there look up sc0ucers siggys
