Eurovox Max problem

all i have a eurovox black and am trying to download 18.04.08 firmware and it keeps telling me my reciver can not receive it can any one tell me what firware to put on my box please

 

If it is telling you that it is the wrong firmware then it is wrong, when you say eurovox black, does it say Max V on front, if it doesn't then it is possibly a red box - Starting at the rear right hand corner count the number of air vents the tuner is visible for on top of the box. If its 8 slots its a Red or black box, if it covers 12, you have either a real blue box or a Clone.
Download all three versions ie. Blue ,Red and Max V.One of them will work * (Check that it is a genuine Box) You will find all you need in Eamo's library, check in documentation for Clone identification.

If it has a silver cross on the front it is black if it has a diamond on the front it possibly be a red box

2006 box === Blue

2007 box === Red

2008 box === Black

 

jamie, regarding your anticipation of the boxing tomorrow, after you updated the channels - it is definately on TV9 (Eurovox max V black), it is advertising The Homecoming at the moment, if it is not showing on your box, then Menu go to Installation and User Installation OK (enter pin) and scroll down to 507.000 MHz, press OK and a tick will appear at left, press blue button for Manual Scan, when it finishes (Minute at Most) then you will have it back. (The Information is for your previously posted area/supplier)

 

got a friends eurovox max (blue box)
installed latest firmware (v2.10)
when i try power scan it goes for a few mins then stops, then i get a box display message PEAA...(think its PEAA, could be PERR)
the box turns off then comes back on showing 0000 in the display, channel not currently available.
tried a few times and length of time varies before it 'crashes'
I:E in progress it has crashed at 4/770 up to 28/770.
i have reinstalled firmware a couple of times and get same problem.
any help would be appreciated

Is it possible that the firmware you have put on your box is not suitable or maybe your box is a clone you would need to check that by opening it and if you see red paint on the screw heads that is what you have

 

yea scouser i just read that..thanks, i'm sure its a genuine box, he brought it in original blue box, i used blue box firmware and it said was installed successfully.
does this mean i have used correct firmware? or would i have got a message saying i was trying to use wrong firmware?
and my only option now is to jtag?... is that what you were saying in that post?

 

hi, i dont really want to open the thing up without friends permission.... won't see him till sunday

 

Protection error usually indicates wrong firmware and most times its a clone box. Look through the grill slots and you will see the red blobs on the board screws no need to open it.

 

thanx scouser, i checked and it is indeed a clone, applied the clone firmware and about to try scanning it.

If it dont find the tp there is a channel file in eko site for dublin use that if needed as some of the latest firmware is giving problems when scanning

 

Its recommended to use your own CDF whenever you download firmware, mine is as said for N** Dublin. But a factory reset should also be carried out after flashing, the problem is not with the TP, but with the user at the end of the box not following flash instructions.

 

There have been many reports of the new firmware after doing the factory reset that the box cant find the tp that is the only reason i have suggested using the file in the eko site as that will work as well as long as it is for the correct provider

 

applied clone firmware, rescanned and its working fine.
