Eurovox Max problem

    Hi guys anybody tell me where to look to explain about the jargon you use cdf tp eko jtag it would help when i listen to you chat thanks for everything

    Well tp == transponder that pick up the channels on

    cdf === channel data file for eurovox

    eko == the holding site for the firmware etc

    jtag == clone box dead due to wrong firmware been put on it so you need to bring it back to life using a jtag and some software

    Got my mates eurovox from him to try and fix,his box wont switch on,there are two vertical green lights immediately above the word satellite that are on when i plug it in.The buttons don't work and the remote wont allow me to switch it on either.anyone got any ideas?

    Some sites sell them now with no software on it, flash the box like normal and you'll come to a screen on your pc/laptop saying system reset. Unplug the power from the eurovox and plug it back in, upload software like normal. Had this problem last week.

    flashing eurovox box

    1 connect your null modem cable

    2 get your loader ready

    3 the loader and firmware are combined

    4 turn your box off at the mains

    5 press the center download button you will get another box press start ( waiting for receiver )

    6 now turn your box back on and you will see the loader loading the firmware

    7 wait till you see that your box has rebooted before removing any cables

    8 now you have flashed your box

    Thanks for all the help.i'm using the cable that came with my starview but the firmware doesn't find the eurovox?
    Is this the wrong cable?

    no should be the same cable just follow what i put up and you wont go wrong make sure you have your right com port selected

    what firmware are you trying to flash the eurovox with?

    that is for a 2006 box is that what you have

    the loader and firmware are combined

    also make sure it is not a clone box look thru the vents for any red paint on screws

    now be sure you have a blue, blue =12 notches from the tuner(rf in) red=8 notches check and see you do not have a clone in here http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon/
