Wondering if someone can give me a push in the right direction. I have the eurovox max box, black in colour. I bought it in 2006 and im needing to update the firmware onto it. I bought RS232 Lead and when it arrived it didnt fix into the back of the box. What lead do I need? Ive also downloaded the firmware, which I hope it's the right fireware but ill find out soon enough If I get my hands on the correct lead. Thanks.

these are the cables you require:
    Null Modem Cable

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased a lot cheaper on fleabay.

I see we have more people not looking past the end of their noses, who have somehow stumbled by the hint ie the link at the top of each page of this thread, and who also failed to read the Forum Rules which includes the new rule here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/662154 (yep, that's the same link at the top of each page of this thread). I sense a thread closure, am having to subscribe to many DVB threads as it is, due to people still ignoring the Rules.

Bit harsh Creaky as you can see its mostly Newbie,s who are asking for codes,we are telling them to go elsewere or just tell them the rules, bit unfair on the "regulars " closing this thread.. thats my opinion..

Nope, not harsh at all. If a thread is closed it can still be referred to as a source of information. Now if too much idiocy goes on threads sometimes get hidden, that's still not harsh either :)
..i can't stop all the firmware talk but i can most certainly stop the code talk..

..however i do lurk on most threads and i do see you regulars helping deflect questions re codes, which is appreciated.

We will keep trying Creaky... although at times you would pull your hair out at the amount of chancers on the site, and thats why from time to time we get restless and non related banter starts LOL
