Eurovox Max problem

Yep thats the one, although I have never seen one give a jinterface error message more likely to give a DCU error. What tsop chip do you have ST or Intel it will be a small 48 pin chip beside the reset micro switch. Skymax can be used for an ST tsop, jkeys for an Intel one.

Even though you stated there is power to the PSU, it might not be correct.Check if you are getting 3.3v first at the vcc connection if you are getting around 2.48 then it most likely is the 1000mf cap.

BTW I see you are looking at buying a new one, why not just fix this one?

 

I've not got the box to hand but I am sure it is an Intel chip. I have tried the Skymax as well and still no luck.

As you might I have guessed - I am totally new to this. How would I check 3.3v? Can I replace the 1000mf cap?

I am thinking it would be easier to buy a new box than mess around with this one - is it worth fixing?

 

You can check the voltage with a multimeter at the VCC connection. TBH if you are in Ireland send a pm to fergusrb he is doing them at a very reasonable rate or if you are in the UK there are plenty of repair services on fleabay. Or if you are happy enough to do it on your own, I will help you as much as possible.

Why speed money on a new box when this can possibly be fixed. Or if you feel it has had its day and dont want the hassle then fire ahead.Sorry but I have to leave for a while.

No problem. Try here http://www.datageeks.co.uk/repair.html they will repair it for £30 inc P&P, if they cant repair it,you will only be charged the P&P of £5. Not affiliated with them myself or have I used them but have heard they do a good service.

Hi,I have a black Eurovox V on n_l and it has being working great for last 6 months except I can no longer get channels 122 - 140 . It just says "no service" I used to be able to get them, can anyone tell me how to get them back please.....

 

Have you tried an auto scan(update channels)and if that dosn't work a power scan if you do a power sacn you may lose your favs and channel order

 

what where the channels you got before they went off..and where are you

 

hi i live in liverpool have all channels i wished for except SETANTA SPORTS 1 i have setanta sports 2 and the setanta news channel all but the 1 i really want is there any one who can help or has any ideas email thanks for your time hope some 1 can help

There is a little notepad icon to the right of your post , click that to edit a message

SET 1 = 299000

Do a manual scan on 299000 and you should get this , it will be located at the end of your list

To add these freq , go to menu,installation,user installation and use the on button guide to add frequencies.

For any frequency that you want to manually scan you select it in your list first by pressing OK when it is highlighted, ( a tick will appear beside the one you select), then you press the blue button to manually scan that frequency.

 

thanks ive scanned that a few times i have setanta 2 and the setanata news just not setanta 1 have all other channels

 

You should get it on 299000 in Liverpool

Try this

Go to installation, user installation.
Press red button to preform an autoscan

And see if it picks it up

Wonder any one can help. just recently got a eurovx max 2008 and now all of a sudden it just shows orange dot on the box and nothing comes up. it was working fine but not now.

 

JUST TRIED IVE DONE ALL THINGS JUST CANT GET SETANTA 1

 

ive power scanned updated and manual scanned still cant get stanta 1 get all other channels gratefull for any help just dont know what else is possible to find wrecking my head thanks.....
