If you are suggesting that you move in with your friend and bring a second armchair & a second TV set then the scenario is doable....

You would have to split the feed & port each of the split feeds to each of the separate boxes & then connect each box to separate TV sets.

Depending on signal strength you may or may not suffer quality drop.
In that case a booster might help.

Of course, if the armchair & second TV set are too heavy to move up stairs you could always run one of the split leads down to your pad & split the monthly charge.

Now that I think of it, the second option might be better, it could ensure that you two remain friends LOL!

I've lost the odd channel for a while when I do a power scan. Believe it or not, if the weather is bad I can't seem to get them all!!!! I know were on cable!!!! N*L here. Make sure you remove any slitters fron your system before the scan, I learnt that here ( many thenks ).

    Hi again,

thanks for taking the time to reply but as im not in the slightest bit technically minded, i dont know how to remove slitters, or even what they are.
I have done 2 powers scans now during good and bad weather and still no Setanta 1. Strange really as this really is the only channel missing!

    Thanks,

thanks for the replys guys. theres no problems today but like some others the adverts were good and then some channels were better than others. like BBC were good then discovery channels were bad.i had wondered if it was Vir*in(N*L)trying to cause us problems. one other thing. i have flashed the box with the latest software update but still have to put new codes in from time to time. is this normal or is there an update i have missed.latest was 18/4/2008

No you have not missed anything, you should not need to do that, when you have the problem next time just go to Menu, Language Settingd OK, enter 1968 (TWICE)and press Default Key to kickstart it - Yellow Button.

Just bought an EX1000 box however noticing some problems with it.

It seems the box does not kick in over anything else when I turn it on and also it sometimes does not show any picture after i switch to normal TV and then switch back to the box.

As a result I have to unplug and then plug the box back in everytime which is very inconvinient.

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Cheers.

Presume you have flashed it with DarX. Your problem seems to be scart related. Have you got it in the TV scart output on the back of the EV?

Strange one then, is it set to PAL? Did you try a factory reset and reflash. Maybe its something as simple as a bad scart output.

I have it set to Multi at the moment as I have done before.

Im sure it cant be the scart lead, It's a JVC good quality one had no probs with 2008 box. I will try setting it to PAL and see if it holds out.

Try it, I wasnt talking about your lead, I was saying it could be a faulty output on the box scart ;)

Box seems to be fine, it hasn't cut out, so far so good.

But it still does not kick in over anything else, however everything else is fine under PAL.
