no joy with that one either. Thanks anyway mate. Interestingly, i noticed on the firmware software that it searches for COM3 despite the fact that it is not on the device manager (i uninstalled it) so it knows it is there, it just doesnt know how to interact with it!

Hi all - I've set up a new evox red box in Meath- digital has just been enabled - they use ch*r*s there. There's a brand new UPC box installed. I do a scan, get all channels, but it doesn't move past please wait code updating. I've tried entering the n*gra details I've found here and there and tried them all. Anyone any ideas of what might be wrong - would there be new c*des for this area alone or something else I've missed?

I've checked through all the posts as far as I can but couldn't find anything. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

I'm giving up with the USB to rs232 adapter. I just bought a pci card on *b*y, but annoyingly its going to be shipped from hong kong even though it said clearly the seller was from london... Is that worth a negative do you reckon?

Thank you Karl - will try this tomorrow - I think its actually a Max V so I grabbed that fw also and noted the readme regarding ch*r*s support - hopefully that works...I thought they might be using a new system there....

If this is the wrong place to ask; could someone redirect me?
I have a privately purchased TW cable box (and a Eurovox) that I have bought and do not have a pin number for this. Is there anyway I can reset/flash or whatever to get it in to a state where I can input a new pin. It is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4000 DVB. I also have an original TW supplied box with a genuine pin; but, of course, that only works on their own box. This extra box I bought is just used in another room to watch the free 2 air stuff; while the Eurovox and original TW box are used elsewhere. Any help appreciated.

not sure at the moment about the frequencies in your area,if your desperate you could always try a factory reset and a power scan
