Eurovox Max problem

If you look into the grills on the top of the b0x and see a ribbon cable it is a genuine b0x. If you see a load of individual white cables it is a clone.

 

It was like this when I took it out of the box!

 

If you only got it send it back to the supplier for it to be replaced

Ya looks like Il have to do that, I sent it back aleady and fixed it or so they throught! im in dublin and I had to sent it back to england ie costs a bit of money dont think its worth it!

 

Sorry J for delay i was off line, firmire is ok i flashed lots with kuro , its odd, frequencys are the same all over Dub NXL, arent they?

Hi, I've just uploaded the 15/03/07 Red Box Firmware and that found about 150 channels but i usually get 250ish. Is there anything else i can try? I checked through the grill and its a ribbon and not individual wires. Any advice appreciated.

Try another factory reset and then a powerscan

 

Hi, i have just done another powerscan and same results only getting around 150 channels. I'm at my wits ends now. I'm scanning on my old SV to see if its maybe the line coming into the house. I doubt it though as the problem only happened after i loaded the October Red Box update.

I doubt it though as the problem only happened after i loaded the October Red Box update. look on your starview and see what frequencies your missing then go to installation user installation channel edit add channells add freq and symbol rate press ok exit press ok on the freq youv'e just added and then manual scan repeat again for any more freq your missing.

Hi, thanks karljd, i just done a factory reset and manually entered the frequencies from the SV to the EV and it worked - i'm now getting all the channels (239 in total). Now my next question - will i have to do this every time i update the software? Also why did it work perfectly and find all the channels when i first got the box but now it struggled to automatically tune in to the TP's?

I'm not too bothered as its working now - just curious as to why it scanned perfectly before but doesn't anymore.

bought a eurovox 08 last mnth(black model).plugged it in got 145 chnls no probs.last week i decided to do another scan to see if i could get more. now it only gives me 10 chnls..tried doing powerscan 50+ times.still 10 chnls.

Questions:
1) What symbol rate should i be using?

2)Before i pwr scan what should the mode say,NORMAL or FULL?

3)what is firmware?

please help im goin mad with no tv....

 

I forgot to mention that Nthell are my provider and im around black rock area...
