Eurovox max security

I would advise him/her to update the 2008 box not only because it may die but the latest firmware which was only released yesterday is a major update with many improvements you will find it here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/574606

 

Just updated my own 2008 box with new sotware. Looks great. I also have 2 other 2008 boxes, but they only have the September critical update. Can i leave them with the critical update, or will they die if i do not have to have the October software!?

 

If you have the new software, then update any boxes you have, anyway the new software is deadly. Its a pity they didnt release an upgrade for the 2007 box.

 

But my other 2 2008 boxes cant die, as a result of not having the October software not loaded can they? They both have the September critical update.

 

Hi guys just downloaded the latest software to my desktop, whats the gameplan after that?? Have the correct cables etc...

It is a unifed loader/firmware so just connect pc to ev with a null modem cable and download the file to the box. This is only for the 2008 Max V.

 

No they wont but as you can see the new update is a major improvement so why not update them.

 

There is a loader but software i dont think is there, you got a link scouser?

 

I posted it above earlier. You do not need a loader as all new firmware for the Eurovox is unified as in the loader and firmware are combined in one file.

Only got in from work at 10pm so I am flying on one wing

 

Ok im in the loader/software im pressing download and all im getting is No available com port - im full connected up with a rs232 via usb - male point from the pc....

1st time doing this any ideas?

 

If its the rs232 cable it will not work , you need a NULL MODEM CABLE to do this

 

Could anyone tell me how i would be able to download the channels with the new firmware. In other words im too lazy to do a power scan and then go thru the whole favourite thing. Thanks.

 

got the cable free with a digivox not the same no?

 

It will not affect your channel order.

 

It could be the right one , have you flashed a b0x with it before ?

 

Should be but is the USB adapter a USB to serial port adapter are you using XP or vista and have you downloaded the driver for the adapter to your pc? I would flash from a standalone pc as these adapters can cause grief.

No, never flashed a box ever on cable theyve always been pre-flashed on arrival, have the 2008 v Eurovox loader up and trying to download with no joy - box incidentally is working fine just trying the digivox out (crap in my book).

Tried the leads out with my technomate and its fine

 

Scouser. Does this mean when i download the firmware all the channels will be there and sorted into favourites.
