Just conected it up. It took a while as i was trying and trying to tune the ev signal in. I gave up and just wet through the normal chanell from n*l and i found it under L2 on the vcr. All is perfect now. Although i'm sure you've heard it before,it's still worth saying. Your a genius

Lads i need help and quick! I sold a box to a friend of a friend and hes not getting any channels. His quality is 83% so thats not a problem, hes got all the frequencys. It just that channels wont display a picture just says SERVICE UNKNOWN. He did a scan and still no change! Any ideas whats going wrong. He has his Virgin Media connection fitted on friday. Any help greatly appreciated.

 

You dont need a loader as it is a UFL (Unified Firmware/Loader), and has he firmware embedded, just download winrar unwrap it and you will see a dnupman icon, connect EV to PC via null modem cable and click download, thats it.

 

Tell us if he is either, ex C**, N** or telepest?

 

No need. It's working now. I foget to tell him about reset to factory default. H edid that and all channels working perfectly. Sorry lads, just had abit of a panick attack. Time to re-charge the old batteries for tommorow. Goodnight.

Scouser, got the winrar, thanks for the help. Downloaded the new software and it doesnt make the box like the new Max V software, an awful shame. After all the hard work!!!

 

It is just a hardware improvement, nothing as dramtic as the Max V Kuro image, will have to wait for another update for the Red.

 

I am using the new Oct loader for a new batch of Eurovox 2008 models. I am on N*L Dub and only picking up 5 x transponders (40 channels).
Any ideas? Is anyone having the same trouble?

 

Yeah same problem.I was told to load sept software and should be alright but have'nt had a chance to do it yet

 

I found with the sep update been ok and all the channels there when i put the oct update on it ,it started to miss channels so i went back to sep update and give me the same problems

 

If you use a 6 Db attenuator which can be bought for a quid it solves the problem.

Another way around it is to take a CDF pre flash, then clear channel info, flash with the Kuro image and then download your original CDF. Seems to be just an over compensation for weak ts areas.

Just so i don't do any more damage could you explain how i fix my Kuro problem.Do i flash box with a CDF using DNupman,erase all channels and then flash with Kuro image??

 

Just upload a pre flash channel dump file from your box save it to your pc. Clear channel data on the EV, then flash with the Kuro image. After you have flashed it then download your previously saved CDF to the EV.

That way you can have a correct list of channels and ts list and also have the adavantages of the new improvements in the Kuro image. If you have already flashed with the Kuro image you will need to get a pre October flash CDF for your area/provider.

 

Heard a rumour C,C have a whole new system ready to be rolled out in 4 to 5 weeks, and the only box that will work will be the dreambox.Anyone know if this could be true.

 

Long time since we heard another one of these treat it as it should be as pure speculation.

 

Would you agree Scouser that they cant just ignore the amount of boxes that are out there and the amount of revenue they are missing out on, there gonna have to come up with a system that cant be hacked such as s-y. From what i heard they are changing all there units and cards and are not holding back on the cost.

 

Economies of scale would dictate otherwise. As for changing all boxes why would they when all they have to change is the cards. If you are speaking of an encryption level such as NDS/Videogaurd lets just say cost would also be a factor.

If I had a penny for every time I seen these rumours I would be a rich man. If it does come to the day that this happens well then it will just be a case of finding another way around the problem, is that not what has been done for years.
