Again many thanks to all concerned for the help and updates to help me keep my box working ok Peter
Yuo need to use something similar to this in conjunction with the null modem cable: USB Adapter info http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor
wouldnt the above cable be able to go straight into the back of the eurovox? or would i definitely need the null modem cable as well?
No as you will need it to be the proper config and gender type this can be attained by using both the null modem cable and adapter together.
Hi I got a eurovox max yesterday installed ok but when I came to select the chanels nothing happened and the it froze so turned off and then restarted now all i get when pressing any button is the language bar saying english and have to disconect to lose this mesage any solutions
no I took it back to supplier he tested it by conecting to his cable and tv found out the remote had gone so he suppled a new one now works fine, thanks all the same
Hi Scouser and Celtic 71 Celtic you gave me the symbol rate of 6875 for Ch**** It didn’t work, found no channels. Im in Wicklow Also tried the two default rates of 6952 T******t and 6887 N** They didn’t work. When I scanned I didn’t scan for the particular frequencies you gave me I just went into the user installation menu, hit the yellow button for a power scan, changed the symbol rate to 6.875Mbd and , let it scan the whole band from 100-870MHz But it didn’t find any channels. Did I do right or should I get it to scan for the specific frequencies you gave me ? Before you ask, yes the co-ax is in the RF socket and there is a signal on it (if I take it out of the box and put it into TV the “normal channels “ come up) and I can see when the box scans it sees a “level” and “quality” of 88-90% on some frequencies, lower levels on other frequencies. Any other suggestions or should I just start scanning from 6.000mbd all the way up to 6.999. Thanks for the help
i cant flash the programs onto the box because i dont have the usb adapter to null cable maplins didnt have any so i just got the null cable direct from port to port
anyone got any ideas on how to flash it without using the usb adapter anyway of flashing just using the normal null modem cable any ideas??
You say you you see normal channels are you sure you are in a digital area as opposed to an analogue one? Is your emulator on press menu, language setting and type 1968 on RC.
Borrow a stand alone pc as it will have a D9 serial port and you can use just the null modem cable then.
No there are definate bugs to be Ironed out. Cork has probs as well.On my New Box i got 20 channels of an available 130 that i still have on the older box with sept update - And Ive tried everything even going back to the old sept Firmware on the eurovox 2008 but Im stuck - I dont know what Im doing wrong
I had the same prob but you can get an adapter quite easy many stores would have it not just maplin - only thing is you want to know what your doing because the dowloader uses com 1 to 4 and when you install the bridge adaptor it somewhere around com 50 to 60. of course you can change this too
Well Ive tried this and it did pick up the same channels as it found prevoiously 20 to 30 but i lost favourite functionality from remote even though i can see they are clearly still marked.
