Go to this thread and read down, it might help you, but and idea you might want to try is, have the box unplugged and press Download, then plug the box in, just an idea not a solution, might work it has in the past >>>>>

Are you by any chance using a USB Adaptor, or OS Vista?

A lot of people have had an issue with Vista, when you say normal cable, have you got the 9 pin port on your PC or Laptop?

Course it does but it doesn't solve your problem, it makes it crystal clear that there is nothing wrong with the communication via the lead. Even more puzzled now lol, was going to suggest you have a look at this link, but I think it would be pointless now, but have a look anyway, different model EV same problem >>>>

He does say that it worked on different box's before he had that problem, sorry I can't be more definitive for you, stumped for now anyway.

EDIT:- Read through the thread he was at it for awhile, check the other page!!

hi there ive even tried on another pc with xp and still no joy can these be done with the jtag lead thanks

Jtagging is a completely different course of action, and is only used to revive DEAD box's, that is not your answer, your box is not dead, it's just not being recognised for some reason. I would advise that you keep trying the hardboot method, it might eventually kick in, "waiting for a response" does mean just that, and has various remedies really, none totally specific, just wish I could give you exactly that (specific) answer, sorry. Does it not say that any thing is detected at all !! when you first open loader with box connected to PC and on standby.

Uploading or Downloading, I am totally stumped here now, so it not really saying that is has "DETECTED".

All I can suggest now is that you delete the firmware you have on your PC and download it again from Eamo's FTA Library, and start again, if it does not work after that, then try another reflash on your EX 1000 to see if a problem has arisen with your gear.
