Power up Euro Vox MAX four dashes appear on LED like this ----.

    Loading the software.
Connect a 'null modem' cable from the box to your PC.
Run the loader application and in the firmware box, click the browse button and find the firmware file you wish to load. Hit the 'Download' button and when 'reset receiver' message appears, switch the receiver off and then on again and the loading will begin
Once loading complete. Connect up and go to clear data on the menu then factory reset, then once reset press the yellow button for powerscan, channels will now download and you be able to be view.

downloaded those items to my computer. I got a cable with the box but had to buy an addapter with a USB connection to fit on my computer. But when I plug the box into the computer it wont reconise the box.

Sounds like you have a wrong RS232 cable as it needs to be a null modem cable with a cross over config. Or you have the wrong USB adapter, as this needs to be a serial port adapter.

    These are what you need:

    Null modem info here

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

    USB Adapter info here

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor

These are only for reference purposes and can be purchased much cheaper on fleabay.

Doesn't matter how you got them, as some boxes have been sent with straight leads that look exactly the same as a null modem cable. And there are two types of USB adapters, one is a USB to serial adapter, the other is a USB to serial port adapter.

Subtle differences but they are quite important when you go to flash your box as you are witnessing.
