It was on the same box i had the channels. i will explain from stat to finish what i have done to see if the extra info helps.... I subscribed with VM a month ago. then I bought the EV PVR, i connected it up with no splitters and done a power scan on all 3 SRs. 6.952 was the only rate i recieved any TPs. i get 34/35 TPs but not a single channel. I done a factory reset and tried again with no effect. So then i flashed with 1.1 with no change to TPs or channels found. Then i flashed with 1.1a with no change to the TPs or channels. I then took my EV PVR to my mums which is around the corner and done a power scan on 6.952. The box instantly picked up over 200 channels and all worked fine. I then took the box back to my house and connected it up. with all the channels now saved on the box from being at my mums i had hope but every channel said "no or bad signal" So i rang VM to get an engineer out as i thought my signal was too weak. with my eurovox hidden the engineer said that i was too close to the green box in the street an the signal was overwhelming my VM box an that is why my picture was breaking up on my VM Box (which was just a lie to call them out. the VM Box was fine) So the VM guy put 2 little silver boxes in the line, a 6db and a 4db. After he left i re-tried my eurovox (channels still stored from my mums) It still said "no or bad signal" So i tried it without the 2 little silver boxes, then with only the 6db and finaly with only the 4db. Finally with only the 4db silver box in line i had all the channel, each and every one had a signal with a good picture. then after about 10 mins of watching TV the picture went blank and came up with the familiar box "no or bad signal" Now im back to square one. Today i bought an amplifyer and still had no joy with that I dont know what else to do Thanks for taking time to read this essay haha.
Wait for Sc0user or Celtic71 to see this but as before from previous read posts a atenuator probably around 9db may fix the problem. Edit- you can get this HERE
ive just bought a Konig SAT-ATT20-KN Variable Satellite Attenuator. It wont come till prob tue or wed tho now so illhave to wait till then. i thought a variable attenuator would be better as im not 100% sure what db change i require. Too strog signal... who would of thought it eh, well i hope thats all it is otherwise my eurovox is for sale!!
if anyone sees sc0user can they please tell him about this thread as i think he is the only person that can help. thanks
if he's like me he never reads the shoutbox, just find a post he's written and click on the top right icon (little head)
i still need sc0users help, can someone tell him about this thread if they see him about on the site, thanks
toffee82 When you get it sorted with sc0user through the PMs can you post what the problem was back in here, Interested to find out what the problem was. Cheers
afternoon all, just got the pvr up and running happy days can anyone tell me is it possible to rewind just from watching live tv without say having to pause it ??
Hi, I am having a similar problem so hoping that you managed to solve it! Have had my Eurovox EX5000 for about a month now and all was fine. Picked up all channels and only a couple of movie channels were blocky. Was watching it all day yesterday (very lazy saturday!) and gradually some channels began losing signal and getting blocky. By the end of the night ALL channels were all blocky and breaking up constantly or just no signal at all... Have checked again now (the next morning) and still the same. All channels fine on N*L box through splitter. (tried removing the splitter and direct feed but same). Tried flashing again with 2 different versions and still same. Any help much appreciated.... Phil P.S. I set a box up for my mate and his one had no problem with the 2 blocky movie channels - they were fine on his, then plugged mine back in and still blocky... (faulty box???)
Hi all - I'm having the same issue on my EVox 5000 pvr. Set it up and received all channels fine, had a full day of sports frenzy . Then the next day it started to break up a little, gradually getting worse. Signal strength at times of break up is still 85/86% so it should be ok really. Seems to be generally ok in the afternoon, but the evening is terrible. No splitter involved, all connections snug etc. I added a amplifier (can't exactly remember how much amplification) in the hopes that it would improve, but no joy there. No difference really. Sounds very like the issues in this thread - if anyone gets a good lead on solving it please post! Thanks
Hi, is anyone having any issues with the recording? I have set it to record it does, but when I go to watch it, the box turns itself off and when it comes back on, all recordings are gone. Cheers
Update: looks like installing attenuators has solved the issue - I placed in a 20dB variable attenuator - no real change, then added a 9dB I had lying around - now I have no issues with the signal. Strength on the info panel shows at 80%. Thanks for the idea!
I bought the 0-20db variable attenuator as well for Eurovox pvr... I've had the problem of bad reception on some of the frequencies despite them having signal strength and quality of 85%. I was hoping the variable attenuator would decrease the signal on those frquencies to around 80% so that the reception isn't as bad, however it seems to either keep it at 85% or reduce it to near zero when you adjust it. Gonna now try with the extra 9db to see if that works... Did you just attach the 9db to the other one?
