eurovox troubleshooting

    If you can access a pc with a serial port it would be easier,then no need for the usb to serial adapter,did you get a cd with the adapter.

    sorry not too clued up on technical. Whats a serial port. I used the usb port on pc/laptops to connect one end of cable to laptop.The other end has 9 pins which the null cable fits to.

    have i got the correct software on at the moment, as i think that it may be due to what is loaded on at the moment.

    i have a couple of laptops with that socket , but with holes instead of pins. Its the socket you use for attaching a projector for presentations. Would it be ok to use that socket. I would need an adaptor as null cable has no pins to attach to socket.

    no thats a vga port used for something entirely different,if you did get a disk with the usb to serial adapter did you download it?

    no sorry did not get a disk with the cable. I assumed it was a plug and play.I did download sowftware from this forum, about usb software from the forum , i think it was a gilson link somone had posted on instructions to download forum.

    Cannot really say its made any difference really.
    So do i need software for this usb adaptor cable. It did not come up as unrecognised .

    go to my computer,view system information-hardware-device management-and see can you see the usb adapter in ports (com&lpt)

    it just says USB root hub for the 5 sockets. just checking driver details forthem at the moment

    it appears that the drivers are upto date with current data.

    its happens a lot of folks sporthst,unfortunately i cannot offer a solution other then the option of the serial port,maybe if you uninstall the drivers and reinstall it may work for you.

    Thanx 2 karljd i got the eurovox ex5000 pvr workin last night but can anyone tell me how 2 put the channels in order plz??

    any help would be appreciated!!
