Not sure what kinda box u have but Check out the following site before attempting any software update.
The new software will be available very soon to fix all the Eurovox code update issues in Ireland & UK but if you have a clone.. Forget it!!!

For most boxes u need an RS232 Null serial cable, takes about 3-5 minuites to run, then just set up your box again.

Go to Maplin ask for an Rs232 serial Null cable,Not a Rs232 serial cable the difference is the null cable is crossover, the standard serial cable is a straight connection, download the software from the sites I posted earlier and run the software while the Null cable is connected to the P.C and the Eurovox is powered on, the process takes about 3-6 minuites then set up your box again, and hey presto there will be no more need for code updates it will do it automatically, pm for more instructions if you need them...
