green day...a SMART punk band that decided instead of playing in tiny clubs to poor ugly loser punks, why not take our music to the masses so millions can enjoy our music.

so if Green Day is posers, then would bands like Operation Ivy, the Ramones, AFI, and all them be the same? Punks are so stupid with their mentality...go mainstream and you're a sellout poser.

I think their new album is phenominal. I get so pissed when everyone compares it to Dookie though. Yes, Dookie is a great record, just like the ones in between like Insomniac and Nimrod, (Warning not included). Judge each album for what it is, but don't compare it to previous albums! American Idiot deserves its Grammy and deserves the amount of attention it has recevied and hopefully new fans as well.

I agree with your statement. Judge each album. I like the way Green Days albums/talents have progressed. I feel the same way about Nirvana - yes Nevermind broke the mold and started a new trend in music but the last one In Utero was fantastic.

Yep, Black Flag's a great band that I forgot to mention along with Husker Du, Meatmen and Tool.

I like Danzig too but unlike most Glen Danzig fans I never cared for Misfits much. Samhain was my favorite part of his career with "November Coming Fire" being my favorite :)

Pink Floyd for me, at least before Roger Waters split. The last couple hasn't been nearly as good without his writing and direction. Their music seems timeless. Some of their songs I have been listening to for 35 years or more and still enjoy them.
