I am a newbie and I was wondering if evo x can be used with any of the solderless chips as is or if they have to be reflashed. Also if they need to be reflashed what do I reflash them with and where do I find this?
all modern chips have to be flashed as they can no longer come with a hacked BIOS. All solderless chips can use the evolution x dashboard AND the evolution x BIOS(dont get them mixed up) if your looking for suggestions on solderless chips i recomend xecuter lite+ (i prefer solder chips tho)or the matrix mod chip.
Ok, so the bios is flashed on the chip and the dashboard is the os on the hard drive, but how can this software be obtained?
cant tell you directly its (psst not legal) but use IRC and look for xbins, find the IRC channel info on www.xbox-scene.com
and its true, if you want a superior chip connection, use a solder chip, although solderless are easier re- no soldering to to , seating correctly , especially on the d0, is often an issue
