Excessive Encoding Times

    Anaylze disk in about 4 minutes, Encoding starts in the 500 hour range. Any ideas

    might be stuck in PIO mode. Bbmayo's guide should tell you how to get back to DMA.

    Also what are your system spec? My old computer 500MHz w/ 128 ram took about 2.5 to 3 hours. When I used Shrink on it - it also had high encoding times but did drop down. Shrink will start with a larger encoding time then it drops down.

    Plunk down around 500 bills and get a new Dell or simialr computer.
