Also the only file that is available to send is the RB config, otherwise I can find no other files on C drive with those extensions.

Definitely messed up the installation somewhere, we just have to figure out where. A good start is with sending the requested files to jdobbs.

Sometimes some of the CCE and Pro Coder encoder "trials" cause a problem, but HC and the other freeware haven't been known to act up. Also, when you install the app, you don't give the path for the EclCCE, but for the CCE execute file. That sets the EclCCE path for the RB setup. At least that's the way I remember it way back when I ran the install. The path in the Options -> Setup should point to EclCCE for the 2.5 with the command in EclCCE pointing to the CCE execute file.

Where did you get the programs you are using for this installation? Also, I'm wondering if you didn't get some files contaminated. Read the post I made to Blueside just before this, it is applicable to your situation as well (second post on this page).

If you read my post, you'd notice that was part of the call.

I downloaded the programs from the site that the email from RB gave me when I received my confirmation. This is the setup

As for AviSynth that was setup before I installed the free RB, so how do I know if it is working, I am assuming it is.

Play one of the .AVS files in your D2VAVS folder for the project. If there's an error it should tell you. I recommend using Media Player Classic to play AVS files with.

Sorry, I can't do that because I deleted them after the project.

    Arniebear,
Did you read the post yet or not? Part of that was removing the AviSynth along with the rest of the RB setup for a clean install. If there are filters you need to save or paths, you can save the folder from AviSynth. But unless you just want to spend your time searching for the cause, it's much easier to do as I said. Blueside found out I was right in short order. Get the programs you need from http://www.dvd-rb.com . It wouldn't hurt to do a fresh download of RB from jdobbs link; be sure to use the key included and install it in the same program folder with the RB execute file. Version 2.5.5 final of AviSynth should be what you're using now. Just from the looks of the screenshot, I'd suspect the AviSynth. Since that is separate, you could try replacing that first.

One thing to remember, RB doesn't work with some of those "trials" that are found on the web.

Okay I downloaded another version of AviSynth, so will uninstall and reinstall that, but how do I get the Pro version of RB all I get at the RB site is the free one to download. And when I try to login it will not let me, although I registered and it says my username is taken, it will not take the password which I know is correct.

Pro is by donation (or purchase) from jdobbs. With a donation he sends you an email with a link to download the app, along with the key that makes it work. When he develops a newer version, you get a similar email. You don't download the Pro version from dvd-rb.com. As I said, you need the AviSynth 2.5.5. With everything, and I mean all of it, deleted, install the AviSynth, the encoder, and then use the RB installation app, whether it's the free beta or the pro. Run the setup at default until you go over how to change the settings.

It sure looks like what happens when the input isn't a legal frame rate or resolution... try opening the .AVS files directly with Windows Media Player and see what they look like.

    Is this a commercial DVD?

RB is the last thing that you need to reinstall. Avisynth and the rest are more likely to cause problems. If you choose to reinstall then be sure to delete your notepad config file.

Glad you agree with what I said Sophocles. Now if people would only start paying attention. ;)

Back again, I uninstalled AviSynth and RBPro then reinstalled. Ripped Pirates of the Caribbean again. Then opened RB and chose CCE 2.5 and only one pass, I wanted speed. Did 1click, movie only and got rid of unecessary audio and subs. It took about 2 hours and then I burned and it came out great even with the one pass and the big CCE logo. Did try to open the avs file with WMP and got this error message

MPEG2source:couldn't open source file, or obsolete D2V file (c:\RB1\D2AVS\V0100 etc

    Datman,
I just did Conan the Barbarian with the new rc6 without a problem. That is as large as one of the LOTR discs. I'm familiar with them as I backed up my entire collection of LOTR extended versions with the older versions of RB. With a clean input to RB the new rc6 gives a good encoded output. Have you been editing the DVDs or doing anything that would alter the structure? Also, have you checked the disc itself with DVDInfopro or a similar app?
