    I recently copied Star Wars Episode III which is recorded in Dolby Digital EX (6.1 channels). My copy of Episode III only plays back in Dolby Digital 5.1. Is the extra surround channel in Dolby Digital EX not copied over with DVD RB?

    I installed DVD RB using the Rockas Installer. I'm using CCE SP Trial Version 2.67.

    A few receivers have a bit of trouble telling the difference between DDEX & DD5.1. On Star Wars Episode II, I noticed this as my receiver by default only recognized it as a 5.1 audio track. While the latest batch of Onkyo receivers handle this better it was still something that had to manually be adjusted for both Star Wars E2 & E3 to play back in full DDEX glory. My guess is you are having the same problem as DVD-RB does not alter the audio on DVD content. Adjust the settings on your receiver.;-)

    I should have tried this from the "get go" but I tested the original Episode III and it too did the same thing.

    It plays the THX promo in Digital EX 6.1 but when the movie comes on switches back to 5.1. I have a Denon receiver that always detects Digital EX or DTS ES.

    I wonder if anyone else dubbing Episode III will notice the switch off after THX promo from 6.1 to 5.1 surround?

    @Sophocles

    My thanks to you and all the others who have helped bring DVD Rebuilder along with testing and feedback.

    @Everyone who celebrates it:

    Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING....

    Don't overeat too much -- but if you do, don't unbuckle your belt and trousers and walk around the house grossing out your family -- but if you do, don't complain to everyone that you are so stuffed that you feel nauseous -- but if you do, don't walk back into the kitchen and start slicing another piece of pumpkin pie -- but if you do, grab a slice for me too, ok?

    Sometimes it's said "May you live in interesting times" can be looked on as a curse. Not so in the world of PCs and software. jdobbs has given us an interesting app to help develop and work with. Thanks to jdobbs and the members of AD who have added to the fun of working with DVD Video. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving.

    Me too!! Merry Christmas to all!!! If you don't celebrate Christmas -- have a "Happy Holidays" anyway. If you don't have any holidays.... enjoy the solstice.

    I would like to echo those sentiments. Have a very Merry Chirstmas and a happy Hanukkah, and if I've missed any other belief a happy that too. After tomorrow I have the next straight 17 days off in a row so I'll make the most of them doing what I do best! Nothing or least nothing that is required of me. LOL

    Sophocles,
    I suspect we'll cross paths again before Christmas, but just in case I forget to mention it, have a good one... LOL As for the cheer, I purchased some just this evening. LOL You know how that works in this part of the world, you gotta make a run. ;)

    I certainly hope so! I would be otherwise disappointed.

    Hmm! If I cross your path, do I have a guarantee that you won't maul me? LOL

    Question: Do Chickens have lips?

    [bold]Um bom Natal e um Feliz Ano Novo para todos!!![/bold] -> Portuguese words for "Merry Christmas and an Happy new Year for everybody!!!"

    ps.
    @Sophocles and Brobear
    i haven't forgot about the iDCT stuff :)
    I'm working on a new "Rebuilder's PRO Help File" at this momment... I know I'm late, but as you all know... life isn't alway as we program it... it's more like:

    Dim FreeTime

    FreeTime = "I can do everything I need to do!"

    If FreeTime < 0 then
    FreeTime = "Damme it, I can't do everything I need to do!"
    End If

    Anyway... On the new help file, I think I'll manage to post some more information about the theme...

    Rockas

    Thanks but I think that we have. LOL

    Besides jdobbs removed the options to those settings making them no longer available. That is unless I've overlooked something.

    It's always good to hear from you. I hope the season brings you, your family, and friends all the best.

    As for Rebuilder, it's become so easy to use and trouble free, it's getting quiet in the help threads. Most people can leave it set at default and get excellent results. It's only for the total novice or those of us who like to tweak things that a more comprehensive manual would be helpful. Sophocles has it right, in advancing the development of the program, some manual settings, like iDCT settings, have disappeared. Such info now would be discussing hidden aspects of the program. There's not much tweaking left these days. Looks like we're going to have to go in search of a new beta. LOL ;)

    @Sophocles

    Those settings are still there. They have been moved to an "Options" tab next to "View/Edit...". That menu structure got too deep and making changes was becoming tedious, so I opted to make it a little more accessible.
