    Regarding DVDremake, it is truly a fine tool and it is really the best solution for backing up multi angled movies with RB/CCE. I wish I could give you a perfect rundown of Remake but the truth is each movie has its own structure and set of rules.

    Take it from me, 3 passes is plenty!

    Edit-I can't believe all these answers posted in the time it took me to type that one sentence in response to nxq's pass query.

    BTW, wingdings-DvdReMake is well worth the money, it is simply the BEST editing/re-authoring tool out there today.

    Yeah, I have some experience of it. DVDRemake kicks ass! Too bad it costs though :O(

    Wingdings,

    The error 9 was from a pathway problem more than likely. The Source path wasn't to the right folder or something happened to the working folder. Check the setup to make sure everything is set and the folders still exist and are accessible.

    Actually no, it wasn't a pathway problem. I double-checked the paths, and that the encoder was set up to the right path aswell. I tried doing my pre-encoding editing with DVDRemake instead of MenuEdit and VobBlanker later that evening, and it worked!
    With DVDRemake all went smoothly.
    Thanks for your help!

    Editing a movie before running it through RB can be a pain in the side. That's why many of us went to Remake, it's that much better than the competitors. You might want to write the steps you used down and share them just in case someone else might benefit from it.

    Glad you got it working.

    Wingding must've broke down and bought remake since the trial won't let you export files. HEH HEH ;)

    Yep I'd say Wingdings got a copy and made it work. What other choice did he have, there's nothing better for that kind of money.

    There is not a better tool to remove unwanted content from a DVD Backup. I just purchased a movie and it had multiple new release trailers in the start of the DVD.

    Well, DVDRemake was added to my collection. Its cheap considering what it does.

    DVDRemake removed those Previews and perhaps saved my mind in the process. Hard to tell these days.

    And now for another confession, it's fun to play with too.

    The application works as promised. Now, its a shame more products don't work as well.

    Sophocles,

    Yes, I downloaded it yesterday (09/18).

    Dimasoft appears to make a strong effort to work with there end-users. I can think of some well known companies who will fail to notice a end-user of there product. This is of course unless the end-user throws $$$ at them.

    I agree completely. In fact I consider the incredible support to be the software's strongest feature. Dimad spends a lot of time on different forums looking for problems to solve, and he isn't afraid to give away a copy when it will help his customers get more use from it. A lot of software companies could learn some lessons from him.

    I have been consistently getting the mysterious buffer overflow error #0004. I am using the following programs:
    DVD Decrypter 3.2.3.0
    DVD-RB v0.59
    AVISYNTH 2.5.5
    CCE Basic 2.69.01.10
    Mpeg2Dec3dg

    I installed everything via the the guide here. I trying to backup Man On Fire. I ripped it with DVD Decrypter in file mode THen I go to DVD-RB and do prepare, then Encode, and then Rebuild. During the Rebuild portion of the process is when it gets the error. It makes it about 25% through and then has to abort. So I uninstalled the above items and reinstalled them. I do the same process and now it can only make it to about 18%! My computer specifications are:
    DEll Dimension 8100
    1.3 Ghz Pentium 4
    640 MB of Samsung RD RAM

    THe configuration for DVD-RB looks like this:
    [Options]
    NoWarn=1
    AudioDub=0
    idct7Opt=1
    LoadPlugin=1
    [CCEOptions]
    VBR_bias=25
    Quality_prec=16
    eclPasses=2
    [Paths]
    CCEBasic=C:\Program Files\Custom Technology\Cinema Craft Encoder Basic\cct2.exe
    MPEG2DEC=C:\Documents and Settings\Jonathan\My Documents\DVD Burning Tools\DVD REBUILDER\MPEG2Dec3dg.dll
    Source=C:\MANONFIRE\VIDEO_TS\
    Working=C:\DVD REBUILDER PROJECTS\MAN ON FIRE\

    Please tell me what I nedd to do. THanks

    jdobbs has advised us all to use Avisynth 2.54 because of a problem with 2.5.

    Also are you using the Retail or Trial verions of CCE?

    It would be good to download and try .57 Rebuilder then try to rebuild what you already have. .58 did this where .57 didn't. It would be good to know if .59 has a similar problem.

    I'm really not sure whether there is a problem with final release of v2.5.5 -- I haven't tested it. But I do know there was a problem with one of the later beta releases that caused an Error 0004 (or was it 0003?).

    About the error #'s. My problems were whenever I used Remake files, and I got both #0003 and #0004 equally. Both #'s give buffer overflow messages. I was using RB .56 at the time, along with Remake Pro 2.2.3. Both softwares went through revisions after that, and I didn't get the #0003 error again until installing RB .58. The lastest version .59 has been working very well for me...even with heavily edited Remake Pro files.

    Edit: I am still using AviSynth 2.5.4.
