    From the RB Menu,
    In Mode, these pull-down items should be checked:
    CCE Mode
    Verbose Status Window
    One Click Mode
    Dynamically Assign Cell Bitrates
    Suppress warning prompts

    In Options >>
    AVS Options >> Check: Convert to YuY2()
    CCE Options >> Check: CCE SP(v2.65+)

    This is most likely my last post for the night but just to make sure you didn't miss out,
    Options - AVS Options - Advanced Options - MPEG2Source (checked)

    Thanks. I was just getting ready to add that one. This shows up: AVSFilter01=Undot().Deen(). This is a filter setting, and is OK, but did you add it? I don't see it in the setup I'm familir with.

    Just to clarify, it should be written as...

    Undot().Deen() Or
    Undot().Deen().

    And it's there in my setup, counting all lines on line 14.

    It shouldn't be there unless you put it there. This would be through Options >> AVS Options >> Filter Editor. What else do you see in the filter window>

    Well, I would suggest you clear those filter settings. The fact they are there means we have a differnet setup. Also, when you went to upgrade to RB .61, you should have had to make the settings manually. It won't do it automatically. At this point I'm confused, and need to think about this a bit. I'm also thinking we should take it offline because of the minimal benefit to others. When you get ready to look at this again tomorrow, send me a PM, and we will go from there, OK?

    I see now how RB .61 self-installed with this setup. I'm going to run a movie through it and see what happens.

    Jimmy,
    It sounds like the mpg2dec3dg.dll file is misplaced or the path is wrong.
    Make sure it's in with rebuilder and the box next to the path is checked.

    @HKT2030

    Please be aware the if you use Undot().deen() -- you must also have the .DLLs for those filters resident in your AVISYNTH Plugins directory (sorry if you already know that -- not everyone does).

    @everyone

    Don't know if this applies, but it's probably not a good idea to ever use someone elses INI files. In most cases it is better that you don't even modify your own. DVD-RB manages these items itself and modification of any of its internal files should be left only to those who have extensive knowledge of MPEG2DEC, AVISYNTH, and CCE...

    Most of the time it is best just to let DVD-RB do its job... without "help"

    Hi all. Thanks jdobbs for your tireless work on the DVD-RB project. I am happy to say that after countless tries with various versions of DVD-RB and CCE, I [bold]finally got it to work!![/bold]. When using the latest version of DVD Decrypter plus DVD-RB (.56 thru .61) plus CCE 2.69 basic (the real deal..I bought it), I would either get the dreaded #0003 buffer overflow error or the equally annoying #09 Subscript out of range error. Even moving all folders to the same drive (as brobear suggested)wouldn't alleviate these errors.

    So, here's what worked. Both input and output folders on same drive. I first used DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0. Then I reauthored to movie only and stripped out unwanted audio via DVD Shrink ver. 3.2.0.15. Next I fired up DVD-RB .61 and pointed it to CCE Basic 2.69 and just used the "Standard" settings that are present right after installing.

    The movie was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and it looked amazing. I sure hope this helps!

    Oh Well! My joy seems to be shortlived. I realized that when I decoded Indiana Jones with success, I had set CCE Basic to standard mode which encodes in 1 pass CBR. I tried next to encode Michael Moore's "The Awful Truth Second Season" (with 12 episodes) using 2 pass VBR with 3:4 ratio and again got the dreaded #0003 error. I'm so bummed!

    If you had DVD-RB do the encoding for you it used its own settings. The encoding is done from the command line and all the settings are taken from the ECL file created during the Prepare phase.

    Spamlover...the fact that it worked for you is a very good sign. Have you done a fresh install yet of your OS and other software? Files get corrupted over time, and it may be time for one.

    I am so encouraged by your quick responses Doc and Vurbul..sorta renews my faith in humanity. Anyhow:

    Your statement brings up questions for me:

    [bold] 1.[/bold] If DVD-RB (which points to CCE Basic) does the encoding, then what does CCE do? and [bold] 2. [/bold] What are the CCE settings for if DVD-RB doesn't use them? [bold] 3. [/bold] What programs/ steps would I need to take if I wanted CCE only to encode/transcode the movie? [bold] 4. [/bold] Is there a way to do all the preparing, encoding, transcoding, etc. without using DVD-RB and then use DVD-RB only for the Rebuild Stage? If so, what programs would I need?

    If this has been answered in other threads, then please accept my apologies in advance. Marc

    No apologies necessary. It's a complex subject.

    I'm not saying CCE doesn't do the encoding, what I'm saying is that all the parameters for the encoding process are determined by DVD-RB. You have some control over it, but nothing you do within CCE's interface before encoding will affect it at all.

    Within CCE you have an option that allows you to save a project file. If you do that, you'll end up with a file called whatever.ecl. That file contains all the instructions required for CCE to do the encoding. You can either open that file in CCE and click the encode button or you can run CCE from the command line, specifying that ECL file for the settings. DVD-RB creates the ECL file itself and then uses the command line to have it encoded by CCE. Are you saying that you changed the CCE settings within DVD-RB or that you changed settings within CCE's interface? I'm a little confused because you said you set it to "Standard Mode", which to me means the default settings. For DVD-RB that's definitely not CBR.

    As far as using DVD-RB for only part of the process goes, it can't be done. DVD-RB uses a very different process than any other backup program.

    Vurbal knows what he's talking about, sometimes you have to read a few sentences at the same time. It's the shortness of his response that made it difficult for you to understand.

    I have been playing around with my undersizing issue. As I posted earlier, by using the default CCETARGETSECTORS, all of my movies were coming out around 2.6 GB. So I decided to bump it up to 2600000 and the movie came out to 2.89 GB. So then again I decided to bump it up to CCETargetSectors=4350000 and also did max_bitrate=8500 and min_bitrate=1000 and the result was 3.38 GB. So I guess I will have to keep on experimenting until I can fill up the DVD space.
    THis is probably totally wrong to do but I have done everything from a complete reformat and recently uninstalled and then reinstalled everything related to DVD burning and it always shows up small.
    UNless anyone can come up with a better method of increasing disc size, I will have to do it this incorrect way becaause after all it produces results. Also I would like to mention that at even a gross reduction down to 2.6 GB the picture still looks pretty good. GO figure?
