It just seemed right to say thanks with a little financial support.

Lets face it, there is not a application out there 10 times its price range that can do what DVD-RB can. And it just gets better and better.

When it does angles it will be heaven.
I just did Star Wars IV. I couldn't resist. It has angles but it took just a few seconds to strip with Remake. The back up looks great.

I had tried DVDshrink to keep the angles but the quality ended up being disappointing. I don't think I'll do that again.

Speaking of ReMake and angles, this may be a dumb question, but won't DVD decrypter do the same same thing? There seems to be something in there under Settings==>File mode. Just curious if anyone knows what that is.

Well that puts you $10 ahead of me, but since I have more money coming in now I expect that will change as soon as we have our savings built back up. I think $20 is about the average donation.

It can strip the extra angles, but it won't fix the IFO files like DRM does. You can strip with Decrypter and fix the IFOs with IfoEdit, but that's not always a reliable solution.

    I also gave $20 and I 'm not sure that it's enough.

I just started using dvd-rb and cce and I am having a problem that I have been unable to figure out on my own. When I back up dvds the audio and video stutter through the whole movie. The only areas i dont see it is in the menu. When I first started using rb I had no problem then on something like my 4th movie I got this problem. My current setup is

    DVD-rb ver .62
    AVI synth 2.5
    CCE 2.69
    DVD Decrypter 3.5
    DVD Remaker Pro 2.4
    MPEG2Dec3dg 1.0
    Nero 6.3.1.25

The computer I am using mainly for it is a Dell 9100 laptop with winxp home SP1
CPU Pent 4 with HT @ 2.8 GHz
    512 Ram

I set up rb according to the guide on this site and downloaded all the files execpt for CCE from DOOM9 forum for rb. The way I back up a dvd is I use decrypter to make a copy of the disc on my hd where I then run dvdremaker to remove all of the junk I dont want which leaves me with only the movie and the menu. After that I sometimes run it thru dvd shrink to remove the audio tracks I dont want but this dosnt seem to have an effect on the outcome. After that I then run it thru rb and CCE. At first I thought maybe it was a DTS problem but it didn't make a difference when I removed it. I dont use my comp when it is going thru any of these steps so I dont think that would be a prob. I have tried different media including -R and +R from various manufactures including Ritek and Taiyo Yuden so I dont think that is the problem. I just recently(lastnight)reinstalled winxp on my comp and this didnt help. I have tried different dvd players one of which is a panasonic that is labled on the box to play dvd-r and dvd-ram.

A few other things that have something to do with this is I do my backups to an external harddrive connected thru either firewire or usb. I have tried to do the backup to the hd on my comp with no change in the outcome. I have also tried to use ReJig and QuEnc and they both still give me the same outcome. When I do a backup that dosnt need compresion or if I use shrink instead of rb they play just fine. If I play the bad disc on either of my computers they play just fine. I dont know what else I can try other then going back to shrink which I dont want to do since the quality sucks compared to rb and cce. Some of the movies I have tried recently include Shade, Secret Window, and Paycheck. If you have any other questions about my setup ask, I will do the best to answer them. I would have put this post on the doom9 boards but since they have a 5 day wait I couldn't do it yet.

Were you using Remake with each attempt? Have you tried to do a backup with a Transcoder such as DVD Shrink? Having a sound problem doesn't sound like RB/CCE.

Sound skipping problems usually but not always points to low quality media but you 've eliminated that. If you're using Remake that could also cause an audio skipping problem and RB is unforgiving of bad Remake editing.

Try a backup without Remake, slow the speed of your burn, and if possible make a backup using another software such as DVD Shrink.

    block134 ,

First no need to post your question elsewhere. There are a lot of DVD-RB pro's here. Sadly, I am not one of them (Perhaps in time).

    Question:

Have you processed a movie through DVD-RB that was not modified in one way or another. Just ripped using DVD Decryptor. Has it played okay at this point? You have multiple varibles in your problem.

When I get home from work I will try an unalterd movie and let you know how it works. Also dvd shrinks works just fine for backups after I use remake. The stuttering is not just audio but video as well. The audio could be caused by my stero reciver, when it loses a signal or is changing audio formats it cuts out. This may be why the audio is bad but when I watch a movie it seems like it skips every other frame of video and when it does this is when I lose the audio.

DVD Shrink will forgive what will stop RB in its tracks. I once butchered a movie using Remake and it too skipped which is why it was my first question. Give it a try without and by the way there's a Remake guide here at AD.

Give it a shot and let us know. I have read several post where DVDRemake gave DVD-RB problems. This does not include the problems I caused my self with DVDRemake.

I have had this problem periodically when I burn to fast. If I burn the same files at a lower speed it usually fixes it.
Did you have angles to strip on the movie with the problem?

It sounds like AviSynth problems. Try opening one of the AVS files in the working directory. You should be able to play it with a media player.

The working directory is the D2VAVS output file. If you don't find your problem after playing an AVS file, post your information log found in the Rebuilder folder.
