Read the changelog for the latest version of DVD-RB v0.70. Does this mean that when leaving the video/main movie untouched it will only run passes to the extras or menus etc. if included?

It looks as though this is a trim feature mostly, where things such as audio tracks and subtitlies can be removed as such, that the overall size can fit to a DVD Type five without compression.

That's exactly what it is for.

Also there are a small number of people who with certain players experienced audio dropouts. It was very rare. This version pretty much eliminated those through the rebuild process. This feature can be used to redo those and remove the dropout without having to do a reencode.

If possible you could make a small donation as a thank you gift for all of jdobbs time and effort, and he'll add you to the VIP list. Then you won't have to wait for it because jdobbs will send you a link where you can download it.

jdobbs, I hope that your holidays were joyful and that you'll prosper in the coming year.

I'm having what seems to be an unusual problem with DVD Rebuilder and CCE. Ripping is fine and the encoding finishes, but the resulting VIDEO_TS folder is larger than the DVD I started with! I added "CCETargetSectors=2260000" after [OPTIONS] and before [CCEOPTIONS], which I understand to be correct. If you have any ideas, that would be awesome!

The easiest first step would be to redo your setup (it takes only minutes) from scratch and don't add any settings other than those that are in Vurbal's guide. Be sure to delete the the notepad file that's in the same folder as RB. You could also provide a bit more information such as the versions of Avisynth, RB, and CCE that you're using.

    1. What version of CCE are you using? 2.70 (SP) and above is not yet supported.

    2. Are you using Basic or SP?

    3. If using SP are you using the OPV function. The latest version of DVD-RB (v0.70) has raised the estimate -- and adding a larger target sector value than the default could result in oversizing. My recommendation is to delete the CCETargetSectors entry and take the default values that are a part of DVD-RB.

Any changes to many of the defaults are done at your own risk... that's the reason they are "hidden" settings -- because they can be dangerous.

Sticky away, I think the old thread has run its course and thanks for asking. jdobbs any ideas on a new thread?

I'm curious is there anyone out there who'd like to see a continuance of this thread in some form or another? If so then state your view here while you still can.

I for one believe this to be a verry helpfull thread. No matter how you slice it I bet that variations to this thread may keep comming back around with different twists to a common theme.

No matter how many times I see it and no matter how much reading (or hands on expierence I have) I always seem to walk away with just a little bit more knowledge about DVD-RB and CCP.

Just my opinion and your milage may varry??

Thanks for your kind words, it's hard to know when something has ran its course but feedback such as yours is why we started it in first place.

It was just an idea ... someone who does have a problem with using Rebuilder w/ CCE Basic will not read through most of the 1270+ posts.

The majority of the time they will just post their question, which may have been answered on let say page 7.

Guess we can keep this going, as long as it stays on topic :)

Thanks flip, if they want we'll still support it, the problem with page 7 is that it deals with older versions of RB and ore often than not CCE too.

lol .. page 7 was just an example of where maybe the possible answer may be ;)

I didn't actually mean page 7 was the page with the answer :)

Maybe I should have said page 11? lol

The RB versions change about every 10 to 14 days and there are more versions of CCE then I care to remember, and the latest version of CCE SP 2.7 isn't even supported by RB yet. I see you still have your sense of humor:)

We certainly missed your presence,You were always a great contributor. A lot has changed since you stopped using RB. It now supports multi angles, you can choose to lower the quality on the extra's to improve the main movie, and you can even use it on borderline type 9's to edit out enough so that no compression is needed and more.

jdobbs is no doubt lurking in the background and since it's his "baby" you'll probably receive an extended list of features. LOL
