DVD-RB is one tool that has earned its place (with honors) in my collection.

I Thought I found a movie that it would fail on. I did a pre-check with DVD-Shrink. DVD Shrink compression was in the RED (automatic compression) 4.75GB). Well DVD-RB did not fail me. I ran it over night and the output looks perfect. Best of all the title fits on a DVD-5.

Hey, I ran into my first confusion with dvd rb and cce today. I have tried cce sp 2.67 and had success with it, but I want to test if 2.50 or 2.67 is better. I tried to configure 2.50 and in the rebuilder configuration file it says cce: 0. Under cce options i have cce (2.50) checked. Under mode i have cce checked also. I use ECLCCE also. Under options-setup i have my cce sp 2.5 location set to EclCCE also. Any ideas? Is it not supposed to say: cce:1?

    CCE=0

That's correct for CCE 2.50 SP

If you have any doubts try my installer... it will do all the hard work for you :)

    eclCCE

That's true but some older non trial version do need it. I'm gueesing that Rockas was intending to support those.

My new installer configures CCE options and paths correctly... it will install EclCCE and set the path to it only if the Selected version (by user) needs it.

I only mentioned that as it is different from the past. I wasn't making any comment on older versions, trial or retail.

    Rockas,
Definitely sounds like one nice installer. It will make the RB setup easier and get more beginners off to a good start. Great work.

Has anyone else run into errors in the rebuild segment of RB 73? First time up I was encoding Frank Herbert's Dune (disc 1) and got a 0005 run time error. Ran the rebuild again and same error in same spot toward the end of the rebuild. Shifted back to RB 72 and the rebuild ran to completion. The problem is in phase 3 of RB 73 as RB 72 processed the D2VAVS files from RB 73.

I'm proud to say (I'm feeking like Bill Gates here) that I've found a bug on my INSTALLER.
It wasn't configuring all CCE version correctly, now it is fixed - I hope.
I would like that if someone has access to all versions of CCE could tell me if it is working without flaws, now - I don't have all versions (Now I'm not feeling like Bill Gates - don't have his money :()

Okay, remind me again if there are any changes need to the quality precision setting in DVD-RB in the latest build. (0.72 w/CCESP 2.70)

First off, since this is my first post, hello to all!

Second, congratulations to jdobbs on what sounds to be a really great piece of software.

Now to the part where I try to see it in action for myself....I actually tried this a few months ago and had no luck...the output size of the DVD was always ridiculously small. I gave up, and just recently decided to try the newest version. Much to my surprise, I get the exact same results....it wants to make a DVD about 1GB in size :(

So, with 58 pages, I was certain this would be covered here...and indeed, I found that the version of CCE SP I'm using was reported to be very problematic (for the purposes of DVD-RB) several months back...but I can't in all this reading see that there was ever a follow-up/resolve to this. So...

    1. is it STILL normal to have DVD-RB try to make me a ridiculously undersized DVD using CCE SP 2.67?

    2. if I get a LATER version of CCE SP, will the problems continue?

    3. It would appear almost certain that my problem is the version of CCE SP I'm using...but, just in case, could this be something else??

Thanks much for the help...and I apologize if the answer WAS in here and I just didn't catch it in all the reading (I DID spend an hour reading posts in this thread before asking my question)...

With RB 72 leave the settings in default.

    Fullasoul,

I also use cce sp 2.67 and have no problems with the size of the output. Try adding CCETargetSectors=2260000 to the rebuilder.ini file after [Options] and before [Setup].

I'd suggest a system cleanup and a clean install of the program. That means deleting all parts of the app and starting over from the beginning. Follow Vurbal's guide to the letter except for updates per the notepad file accompanying RB. (Use DGdecode and the latest AviSynth.) Then there is the auto installer from http://www.dvdrebuilder.com

I've had sizing and some other problems in the past and it was from a corrupted setup. Enough people use the 2.67 SP without problems that I think it's safe to say the version isn't the problem.

Just wondering if perhaps I did something wrong but, I managed to get a CCE watermark on the main movie file. Doesn't the latest version of DVD-RB allow CCE SP to run as full without the use of ecl?

It does work without eclCCE. The watermark is there because it is a trial app, ecl won't remove it. The retail products don't have the CinemaCraft logo recorded to the video. Cinema Craft is letting you see the product quality without giving you a useful free product, unless you don't mind movies with the big watermark. The Basic CCE is only $58, the SP is almost $2000.

I've run tests with the different SP trials and as far as time and quality, I see no difference between the earlier versions and 2.70. The 2.70 not using the eclCCE is the only big difference as far as RB is concerned; at least while running a simple test with settings at default.

    "Runtime Error 6 Overflow"

I encounter this error when running the program. This is the first time I had this happen to me before. Normally, everything is fine. THe disc is 7.4Gb but Ive done CCE with ones that are 7.8gb and it has never occurred. Does anyone know what the problem is? How do I fix it?

    Thanks

well...I reinstalled and actually managed to upgrade my CCE SP to 2.70....but unfortunately I'm getting the same results. I'm now convinced that it has nothing to do with the CCE version since I see that it actually TELLS me in the status window at the end of the "Prepare" phase that it's intended to use unbelieveably low bitrates (1400 max????).

Why on earth is this happening????
