explorer.exe problems

    does anyone know why when i go into the explorer and right click or try to delete something it freezes....not the pc but the explorer....ctrl+alt+del says it is "not responding"......it started after i installed the SP2 from microshit, i mean microsoft, but not right after so i hope that's not it....i'll uninstall it if necessary, but i'd rather not if i don't have to...thanx in advance for the help

    Had exact same problem,
    Got rid of SP2 (needed clean install anyway...)
    No more problem!
    Since then I found out SP2 breaks all DivX codecs.
    (I use DivX 5.2 Pro)
    Their latest codec (5.2.1) is required, and is the only one SP2-compatible.
    In 'fixes' they provide a perfect description of the problem - just like you said.
    Now I have installed DivX Pro 5.2.1 but I'm still sticking with SP1a :)
    I will wait until all the little freeware/shareware programs & utilities I use come to be up-to-speed with SP2.
