    Hey!

I have been comparing prices and brands for the last 4 months and now I am becoming crazy! LOL I have absolutely no clue about what I should pick. So I hope some of you guys can give me a hint.

This is the computer I have.

    - Sony Vaio PCG-FX340 - 900 Mhz and 384MB RAM
    (kinda old and sometimes slow)

I was planning to buy an external USB 2.0/Firewire case combined to one of the following drives.

    - Sony DW-U14A
    - Nec ND1300
    - Pioneer A06 or 106
    - anything else?

What do you guys think would work best with my laptop considering speed, buffer and buffer underrun protection?

    Scary question...

    Alex

I'd suggest the Pioneer. You will not have any buffer underrun problems, but you may have to wait long times if you are going to copy movie.

PS. I think I saw somewhere the new Plextor as external, have a look, but I still suggest Pioneer.
