   I have a Lacie 500gb external harddrive connected by a usb 2.0 port ,and I have a cable modem. Does anyone know if I could stop all outside access to this harddrive only, nothing else? By this I mean that noone on the internet could access it so I wouldn't get any viruses that would erase the harddrive.

   good luck at that.try a firewall, different antivirus & antispyware programs & not connect external unless needed
