Extracting .exe files

    This probably be an easy task but i'm no good at it.

    i have a quake 3 demo (q3demo.exe) and i want to extract it so i dont have to install it to play..

    any ideas on how to extract it without installing?

    You can probably extract it, but I don't think it will work. Even the demo versions have to install system files within windows for it to work.

    the other day, i installed quake 3 as normal and went to the c:\program files\ etc and copied the whole directory to my pen drive then uninstalled it from my pc. it works! now i have a demo version of quake 3 without having to install it :)
